Screen Time and Summer

Summer is just around the corner. The days are getting longer, after school activities are wrapping up, and homework will soon disappear! As summer holidays approach, families make plans for holidays, camps and time away from school. Unstructured time provides many opportunities to engage with friends and family, create, read, play, or get outside, to name a few. Unstructured time can also provide increased access to screens. How can parents balance expectations and access? How can screen time be monitored? What does summer and screen time look like?

There are many suggestions and guidelines to help families navigate these questions. This month’s email provides links, videos and articles to help parents have conversations with their children about screen time during the summer. While this is the final message for this school year, monthly emails will resume in September. Have a wonderful summer!
