The Cub Hub

The weekly newsletter for Bear Creek Elementary.

April 25, 2025

Dear Bear Creek Families,

Happy Friday! Many of us were not use to a five day week. We were so proud of your Cubs and how they approached their learning. We are all sensing that summer is around the corner. However, May is still full of numerous educational opportunities. I love this time of year. This is when we are able to achieve significant growth. Thank you for sending your children to us every day ready to learn.

This past week we showed great appreciation to our Administrative Assistance Appreciation Week. It provided us with the opportunity to show our love to Melissa Goodwin, Nery Gouldner, and Robin Mealey. We are so fortunate to have a highly effective front office team.

We are so grateful that Mrs. Patricia Rios was able to join us for one year. We knew last Fall that she was working towards her educational diagnostician endorsement. Bear Creek is now looking for a wonderful Elementary Counselor to serve of Cubs for the 2025-2026 school year. Please share the above graphic on your social media pages to spread the word.

Sincerely,

Theressa Lewis

Principal

Both Lauren Darling and Melanie Plummer received district recognition for being super star volunteers! Bear Creek thanks you for your service.

Bear Creek Dads in Action!

Our Dads and their children used the Friday April 18th, holiday to serve Bear Creek. This amazing group of volunteers tackled some priority needs on the Bear Creek property. There are plans to continue to work and have an ongoing support for Bear Creek Beautification Projects.

Interested in being part of this crew - email bearcreekdads@gmail.com for ways to assist.

District Arborist - Sydnee Levell

Sydnee Levell came back to inspect previous work and address a few old stumps found during our cleaning. The 1st Grade Cubs had an impromptu lesson with a certified arborist. This on-site, real world connection is a wonderful opportunity.

CAC Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on Monday, May 5th at 3:30 pm in the Library. All are welcome to attend. We enjoyed seeing so many new faces and having a need to grab a few additional chairs. Thank you to Kristina Stockfisch for the snacks. Those soft touches are a wonderful part of the time we get to spend together.

Citizens have opportunity to be represented on the agenda and heard during the meetings. Please use this form to submit your topic.
