Division 2 Rounders Champions! Division 2 Rounders Champions!

Dangan NS played Ardcath NS in the Division 2 Final of the Boys Rounders competition today. Both teams displayed some excellent fielding throughout the five innings. Kevin, Luke, Lasha, Flynn and Tomás showed great, fielding, teamwork and skills to get several of the Ardcath players out. Tom and Conor were an excellent partnership throughout the competition in their respective roles as bowler and catcher. When going out to bat for in our final innings, the boys were down by one run on a score line of 8-7. Some great batting by Timmy, Tadhg, Kevin and Oran ensured that both Kevin and Tadhg made it home to secure to a one run victory for Dangan NS. Myles, Cameron and Dylan all played important roles during out campaign and practices throughout the year and we know their roles as 6th class students next year will be even more important. Overall, it was a brilliant display of teamwork that ensured Dangan claimed the silverware. Many thanks to all of the parents that provided lifts today: Denise and Pat, Jean, Derina and Lisa.

and Oran O’Reilly

Kick off is at 2:30pm on Friday 14th June at Trim GAA

Mr. Kelly has written a few lines about the team's journey to the final.

In our first match of the year, Dangan played Moynalvey NS (our opponents for the final) and we scored a late goal to equalise in a thrilling match. We then went on to have victories over Kilbride NS, Kilcloon NS and Scoil Uí Ghramhnaigh Rath Cairn. Next up Dangan played Rathbeggan NS in Summerhill and snatched a victory with a late scoring burst to put us through to the knock out stages. Dangan then played Boardsmill NS in a match where a victory would have likely seen us top the group and make it straight to the final. Boardsmill were much better on the day and beat us comprehensively by a margin of 12 points. With other results falling the way they did, we played Boardsmill NS again in a pulsating semi-final. With very little ever separating the sides, it was Boardsmill who rallied well at the end of normal time to force extra time. Dangan trailed by 2 points at half time in extra time and they showed a never say die attitude to finish the game really strongly and win by two goals.

Dangan Fun Day! Dangan Fun Day!

Dangan Fun Day was another huge success! Last Thursday, the 6th class boys and girls organised a full day of activities where all classes enjoyed moving from classroom to classroom, each offering a different activity. There were orienteering challenges, sponge throwing, Kahoot quizzes, board games, face painting, tattoos, and of course, the very popular jumble sale. The students shopped to their hearts' content, and it was wonderful to see everyone having such a fun day.

My sincere thanks to Ms. Payne for overseeing the event, and I am incredibly grateful and proud of the 6th class pupils who were so organised and brilliant in ensuring the day went off without a hitch!

Thank you also to you, the parents, for donating items for the jumble sale and for paying your child's participation fee. We have raised a whopping €1,111! This money will be used to purchase yard activities for the children to enjoy during break times.

Inclusion Inclusion

As we conclude our focus on the core value of Inclusion, we hope it continues to be a priority for everyone at Dangan. Below is a picture of three of our 3rd class pupils who designed a display showcasing what Inclusion looks like at our school. We encourage you to visit this display during your next visit to the school, and we extend a big thank you to the girls for their efforts in putting it together! We firmly believe that our pupils, parents, and staff exemplify inclusive qualities remarkably well.
