Reflection...

Panthers, what an extraordinary week it has been! The energy, the accomplishment, and the sheer volume of dedication displayed across our campus this week made it one for the history books. Simply put, it is a good week to be a Panther!

We kicked off the success with the final curtain call for our drama department. The run of the TRAP production concluded, and our students were truly incredible. Their commitment to their craft and the quality of their performance were outstanding, bringing joy and inspiration to everyone who attended.

On the field, the incredible journey of our football team continued as they secured the Sectional State Championship! This accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and resilience. Their journey isn't over yet, as they face Butler TONIGHT. Let's make sure we send them off with our loudest support and Panther pride!

Adding to our list of champions, our remarkable Robotics Team traveled to Ohio and were named the Launch Tournament Champions. This dominant performance earned them the coveted rank of Number 1 in the country! Their innovation, technical skill, and collaborative spirit are setting a new standard nationally.

Finally, I want to express profound gratitude to the students and staff for our 8th Grade Open House on Wednesday. The night was a huge success, thanks in large part to our amazing student ambassadors! Over 25% of our entire student body volunteered their time, serving as the enthusiastic, articulate faces of our school for their clubs, sports, and activities.

I am so proud and thankful for each and every student and staff member who volunteered their time and talent to attend last night’s event. Your willingness to give back and represent our school is what makes CGHS so special!

Please join me in offering the congratulations to Mr. Bob Brady, who has been named the Governor’s Educator of the Year!

Mr. Brady is celebrating his 32nd year here in Cedar Grove. Over three decades, he has continued to evolve his practices and increase his educational knowledge to teach a wide variety of students, including those in his demanding AP Calculus and Multivariable Calculus classes. He is known throughout our halls as the teacher who always has a smile on his face.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Brady embodies the Panther spirit of service and community. He never fails to jump in to help, whether it's lending a hand as the best BBQ master at our events or serving as an advisor to the Helping Hands of India Club. His dedication also extends to athletics, where he currently serves as a Football and Golf Coach, and previously coached Wrestling and Baseball.

We are incredibly fortunate to have an educator of his caliber and character shaping the lives of our students. Thank you, Mr. Brady, for your three decades of dedicated service and for being a continuous source of inspiration. We are so proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor!

Please join me in offering the congratulations to Nurse Cali, who has been named the Educational Professional of the Year!

Nurse Cali is celebrating her 26th year here at Cedar Grove. She is recognized for her deep professional knowledge, her unwavering dedication in her role, and her powerful connection to our community. Beyond her essential health services, she is a familiar face at sporting events, cheering on our student-athletes, and is vital to many of our most important organizations, serving as the advisor to the All-School Council, the Red Cross Club, and the Senior Class Advisor. We also recognize her contributions as a former varsity girls soccer coach and a dedicated track and field official for seven years!

A passionate dog lover and outdoor enthusiast, Nurse Cali also shares her warmth as a noted hot chocolate lover.

Thank you, Nurse Cali, for your 26 years of selfless service and for being the professional foundation of our school health and community outreach! As you look forward to retiring this year, we wish you all the best as you enjoy well-deserved time with your family and dogs, pursuing your loves of hiking and kayaking, and starting new adventures in beekeeping and raising chickens!

National Honor Society Peer Tutoring National Honor Society Peer Tutoring

Need a Tutor? The National Honor Society Cedar Grove High School offers Peer Tutoring for all

high-school students (you do not need to be a member of NHS to request a peer tutor). If you

would like to request a peer tutor, please follow the procedure below and check out the peer

tutoring catalog in the attachments for the students name, availability, and subjects they are

offering to teach. We have an amazing group of Senior NHS tutors who are eager to tutor your

student/child.

Procedures:

● Students should contact their teacher for additional assistance.

● Teachers/Counselors may recommend students try the National Honors Society peer

tutoring program.

● Teachers may share this catalog with students in need of tutoring, and the student may

select a tutor that they believe will be a good fit for them. Please keep in mind that many

students tutor in multiple subjects (and many students tutor in the same subject), so try

to find who you feel will be the best fit for your needs.

● Contact Ms.Halawani by email to notify her of your tutor preference BEFORE contacting

the tutor. If a teacher/counselor is contacting Ms. Halawani on behalf of a student,

please include the student in the email.

● After confirming tutor availability with Ms.Halawani copy down your tutor’s contact

information from the catalog.

● Contact your tutor to schedule your sessions.

● Report back to Ms. Halawani informing her of when you are holding tutoring sessions.

Note: Any conflicts/issues should be reported to Ms Halawani: halawani.mirna@cgshools.org
