Speech Services Update
Congratulations to our speech pathologist, Sarah Haynes, on the birth of her baby girl on October 13. Mrs. Haynes will be on leave for the foreseeable future enjoying her new baby. Unfortunately, LAUSD does not have any substitute speech pathologists to take over her caseload. All students who receive speech therapy services will be owed compensatory time for the missed sessions when a new pathologist is assigned to our school. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any speech assessments without a provider, so all speech-related services are on hold for the time being.
Comprehensive Needs Assessment
You may have heard in the news that LAUSD is facing drastic budget cuts for the next few school years. Our school will complete the budget development process for the next school year prior to winter break. When I see our budget allocations for the next school year, we will be making some really tough decisions. Please help the SSC make an informed decision by completing the Comprehensive Needs Assessment Survey by November 18. Your input is very important!
