Weekly Update

Good afternoon! We have a big week ahead with the start of interventions and parent-teacher conferences. Please take a few moments to read through each section below, as it contains important details regarding these events.

Bell Schedules: I have updated our early release and half-day schedules to accommodate time for interventions. The bell schedule document is included, and I have also linked the daily bell schedules for each day in the “On the Calendar This Week” section to avoid any confusion. BELL SCHEDULES
Secure Mode Drill: We will have a secure mode drill on Wednesday afternoon. I will follow up with an email on Wednesday morning that includes clear guidelines and expectations. The secure mode language is linked for your reference. SECURE MODE LANGUAGE
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Conferences will take place Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon, with a true half day on Friday.

Mighty Magi Referral

We will begin interventions and enrichment groups tomorrow. All students have been placed into a group with a designated location. For those of you who did not create an intervention group, I have created those and assigned students to you based on appropriate needs and will follow up with an email with details.

All students have received an email letting them know which group they are in and where to go. Please wait for the tone at 10:25 to release students.

I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work over the past few months as we prepared to put this important process in place.

Our “Magi Success Squad” will give students the option to go to the gym to play or the cafeteria to work on homework or socialize. This group can serve as an incentive and something positive for students to work toward.

We also have behavioral interventions in place to provide more intensive support for students who will benefit from additional adult guidance during this time.

We’re offering two opportunities for fall parent-teacher conferences this week. Conferences will be held in an open house style in the gym, where each of you will have a table to set up.

Schedule:

Wednesday: 3:30–7:00 p.m.
Thursday: 12:30–3:00 p.m.

Parents will pick up their child’s schedule in the office, then head to the gym to rotate through their student’s teachers as you are available. We’ll have plenty of chairs available for waiting as needed.

Please plan to bring your laptop so you can access student information. We’ll provide extension cords, but if you have a charging tower or power strip to share, that would be helpful.

We’ve used this format for several years, and it continues to be both efficient and well-liked by families.

We’ll wrap up PLCs a little early at 3:00 on Wednesday to give you time for a late lunch or early dinner in the media center before parents begin arriving.
