Dear BES Families,

This past week, our teachers met and planned for your child. I'm not talking lesson plans. I'm not talking about as a class or a grade level. Nope, they met and looked at each and every student individually to ensure this year is tailored around YOUR child's individual needs. How do we do that? By looking at each child's past and present needs, the teacher teams put together intervention plans to help every student at every level of learning get what they need in order to progress. Even our Title teacher, Mrs. Graber, met with consultants this week to plan for the needs of your child!

We take learning very seriously and we want the very best for your child. By they time they leave BES for LMS, we want them to be prepared and ready for those next steps!

Come learn more this Thursday night at our Parent Information Night. We will explain exactly what this process looks like and can answer any questions you have about your child's learning. We will have child care available. We will have family activities in conjunction with our 7 Mindsets resource in the gym starting at 5:30pm and the Parent information will begin at 6pm. After the meeting, we will have one of our four upcoming volunteer training sessions. Hope you can make it!

GLOW BASH RESULTS! Thank you so much for a wonderful Glow Bash! We didn't quite make our goal of $10,000, but we did make $9,145.96! That is awesome! We are very excited as our field trips, assemblies, and our author visits will be covered! THANK YOU! Our 5th grade raised the most and earned an extra fun inflatable party. Theo will be our Principal of the Day and had the most money raised for 5th grade. Madilyn was our top winner in 4th grade and Naomi was our top winner in 3rd grade. GREAT JOB!

This Friday, we invite our students and staff to wear our Nation's colors to remember the events of September 11, 2001 and pay our respects to those who lost their lives and the heroes of that day.

Have a great Labor Day and I hope you enjoy all Louisburg has to offer tomorrow.

Honoring Our Miami County First Responders

As we remember the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to honor the thousands of lives lost and the countless individuals who stepped forward during one of our nation's darkest days. On that day, first responders from across the country showed extraordinary courage, compassion, and selflessness. Their willingness to run toward danger and help others continues to remind us of the strength and sacrifice of those who serve their communities.

Paola KAY would like to honor and remember that spirit by inviting our local first responders and their families to join us for a special tailgate before the football game on September 11.

We want to take this opportunity to say thank you. Not only for the sacrifices made on September 11, but for the sacrifices you and your families make every day while serving and protecting our community. Please complete this RSVP so we can prepare enough food for everyone.

TAILGATE DETAILS

  • Friday, September 11
  • Paola High School Football Stadium
  • Tailgate begins at 5:30 PM
  • Football game begins at 7:00 PM
  • Dinner: Walking Tacos

ADDITIONAL GAME DETAILS

We will allow any first responder free entry into the game with ID. Additionally, their family is welcome to join them for a free tailgate prior to the game. Lastly, we plan to invite all first responders in attendance down onto the track near the end of the first quarter and we will recognize our community's first responders between quarters.

Attendance and School Calendar Attendance and School Calendar

Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.

Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!

If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.

GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!

mySAEBRS Permission Form mySAEBRS Permission Form

Our school will be administering the mySAEBRS universal screener through FastBridge the week of September 8, 2026. mySAEBRS is taken by students in grades 3-12 and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. mySAEBRS (my Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) is a brief tool for screening students to identify those who may benefit from social-emotional behavior (SEB) supports.

We believe this survey is a valuable tool because mySAEBRS can be used to identify students who may be at risk for social, academic, and emotional behaviors. By evaluating, in which of the three specific domains a student may be at risk, we may determine what type of supports are most appropriate. For example, if a student may benefit from emotional supports, then we may target emotional behaviors via the application of social-emotional learning (SEL) programs. As a school, our goal is to always communicate with the family when we provide additional tiered supports for our students.

Participation is voluntary and you or your child may decline to participate. However, we believe participation is important. This data is a helpful piece in identifying needs and providing timely support and resources. More information can be found at: https://www.illuminateed.com/products/fastbridge/social-emotional-behavior-assessment/mysaebrs/

Before parents provide consent, we request that they open and review the document mySAEBRS screening tool.

If you want your student to participate, please provide consent by September 7, 2026. The five-minute screener will be given to students who have parental consent by September 7,2026.
