We are excited to WELCOME BACK our returning Jaybirds, and would like to WELCOME our new students to the 2026-2027 school year! At JCHS our goal is to share information through a monthly newsletter as well as through emails or text messages when necessary. Included in this newsletter, you will find important information about registration, open house, back to school information, and upcoming events.

In the weeks leading up to the start of school, we encourage you to contact your school counselor or principal if you have any questions or concerns.

There's also a mobile app, where parents can enable notifications be sent to their phone regarding changes in the student's attendance, grades, and assignments.

• Students must pay their Chromebook insurance each year in order to keep their Chromebook upon graduation.

• If insurance is not paid, replacement costs will be full price when damages occur (i.e. screen is $100, keyboards are $20, etc.).

• Bring your CHARGED Chromebook to school every day.
• Keep track of your charger - A lost or stolen charger WILL NOT be replaced, but can be purchased from the Tech Center.
• Snap-on covers may be purchased from stores or Amazon for decorating - stickers, writing, or other decorations/defacing are NOT put directly on the Chromebook.
• Damage to or loss of a Chromebook needs to be reported to the Tech Center ASAP.
• A police report needs to be made for any stolen/lost Chromebook within 24 hours for insurance to cover the loss.
• The Chromebook is school property and can be examined at any time by a staff member.

Students are required to have a parking permit to park on campus. Parking permits may be purchased during registration or at any time throughout the school year through Campus Portal. Students will be issued a hang tag that must be displayed from the rearview mirror while parked on campus.

General student parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis each day. Seniors who choose to participate in the painted senior parking space tradition will be assigned a designated parking space.

Parking permits are $40 at the beginning of the school year and decrease by $10 each term. Seniors who wish to paint their assigned parking space will pay an additional $35 fee.

This school year the Class of 2027 will have an opportunity to paint their own parking spaces. Packets can be picked up at registration or after registration in the main office. The following SPECIFIC requirements are needed in order to start painting:

• Pay parking fee and receive numbered parking space
• Approved drawing by JCHS Administration
• Signed packet (student and parent/guardian)
• Purchase water based latex FLAT paint and other painting accessories

The meal prices for the 2026-2027 school year are as follows:

Breakfast: $1.85

Lunch: 3:50

(Milk is included with the meal. If only purchasing milk, or purchasing an extra milk, it is $0.50 per carton).

JC Schools households are strongly encouraged to complete and submit an application for free and reduced price meals to the district for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications are approved for one year and you must re-apply each school year, if you wish to continue free or reduced price meal benefits. You can begin the application process on our website HERE.

Students with a positive or negative balance on their account are carried forward from year-to-year. You may check your students’ account balance and/or make a deposit to MySchoolBucks HERE.

• We will be updating schedules and adjusting classes as we receive new students. Your student's schedule may change. Use your Chromebook to check your schedule on Sunday, August 23rd.
• We will have students' 1st hour classes posted throughout the building on the first day. They will be listed alphabetically, and have the room number beside the class.
• Please check your student's bus number in order for them to know which bus is picking up before and dropping off after school.

School BEGINS at 8:40 am and ends at 3:40 pm. School doors will open at 8:10 am.

• Students should check their student portal on Infinite Campus prior to the first day of school.
• If you have your Chromebook make sure it is FULLY charged.
• Bring paper and pens/pencils with a folder.
• Know your bus number, and double check your pick up and drop off times.
• Practice getting up early, and get a good night's rest prior to school starting.
• Breakfast is grab-and-go, and is eaten in your 1st hour class.
• Students enter throught the Stadium Street or the Main Entrance doors only (See map above).
