Welcome to Preschool!!!

We look forward to a safe and healthy year! Please be patient and understanding as things may change. Keeping children and staff safe is our NUMBER ONE priority.

Car riders must use the car rider line from 7:15 a.m.-7:45a.m. Do not park and walk up. The amount of traffic that we see in the mornings just makes it unsafe for you to walk your child up the sidewalk. After 7:45 a.m., your child is tardy. At that time, you will need to park in the parking lot and walk your child in.

Chronic tardies, early pickups, and absences will be addressed by family service staff. "Chronic" is defined as more than 2 per month.

Please call the school anytime your child will be absent.

Please sign up for DoJo! This is how your child's teacher and Family Advocate will be communicating with you!

Outside food is not allowed in the ELC.

Remember, as a safety precaution, parents WILL NOT be allowed in the school building without a scheduled appointment, parent activity, or to volunteer.

Please do not allow your child to bring in jewelry or toys, unless specifically requested by the teacher--such as "Show and Tell".

Bus Transportation!

Busing Reminders: Children must be walked to the bus in the morning by an adult. In the afternoon, you must present ID and be on the list to get a child off of the bus. Please be waiting for the bus. If your child is returned to the ELC 3 times, you are in danger of losing bus privileges for 3 days.

Please allow a 15 minute window for buses. As the days go on, and the routes become familiar, buses will arrive at your home earlier.

Proper behavior on the bus is a MUST. If a child is unable to remain in his/her seat, disrupts other children, or exhibits dangerous and unruly behavior, he/she is in danger of losing bus privileges permanently. Please talk to your child about how to ride the bus safely. More than 2 write ups from the busing staff can cause your child to lose his/her seat on the bus.

****If your child does not ride the bus for 3 consecutive days, you must contact the school to resume transportation privileges.****

WAYS TO KEEP YOUR PRESCHOOLER BUSY AND LEARNING!

  1. Use a timer to see how long it takes your preschooler to get dressed. Can he/she beat his/her time tomorrow?

  2. Talk about your favorite family celebration. Have your preschooler draw a picture of it!

  3. Carry a box of crayons with you. Help your preschooler find objects for each color.

  4. Help your child create a pattern with items found in nature. Example: leaf, acorn, leaf, acorn.

  5. Encourage recycling! Have your preschooler draw a picture of things that can be recycled, such as newspapers and plastic bottles to hang above your trashcan to remind you to recycle those items.
