The Wildcat Way
End of Quarter 1
A message from Principal, Marcia Case
Hello, Wildcat Families!
Tomorrow, October 1st, is the BIG day we've been waiting for at Evans! Itβs our 50th Birthday Party, Count Day, AND Picture Day!
Count Day is especially important - attendance on this day helps provide an accurate picture of our student enrollment and supports important school funding and planning. Please make every effort to have your Wildcat at school tomorrow. Staff and students are encouraged to dress like it's 1976, the year Evans opened its doors for the first generation of Wildcats.
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to Eye Love Care! They provided 200 eye exams at Evans and helped 131 Wildcats receive glasses! We are so grateful for their support of our students and families.
We canβt wait to celebrate 50 years of Evans Wildcats with you! We'll kick off the festivities at 4:00pm in the courtyard. See you then!
Thank you,
Marcia Case

π Evans' 50th Birthday Party π
All current Evans students and families, alumni, and our amazing community partners are invited to join us for an evening filled with 70s-inspired games, groovy activities, and, of course, cake and ice cream!
Come help us celebrate 50 years of Evans memories, friendships, learning, and Wildcat pride! We canβt wait to see you there!
Please be aware road work is underway that may impact travel through the Sand Creek Zone. El Paso County work crews are adding a series of pedestrian crossing upgrades at intersections near the Campus (SSAE/PPEC), Evans Elementary School and Horizon Middle School.
The work is taking place at several intersections in the Sand Creek Zone over the next few months. The locations are below:
Work zones will include reduced lanes and speeds for the duration of each project, which may slow the typical flow of traffic through the areas of construction. Project engineers encourage drivers to allow some extra time for your commute, or consider an alternate route to your destination.
Thank You, and Have a Smooth and Safe Commute Please also note that weather and other factors may impact the scheduled work. Watch for updates as they become available. Thank you, and have a smooth and safe commute.
π Attendance Matters: 2026β27 Updates & Reminders
Important attendance policy updates and helpful reminders for the 2026β2027 school year are below.
School begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. Students are considered tardy once the bell rings if they are not in their classroom. If your student arrives late, a parent or guardian must come into the front office to sign them in.
Please note that early student pickup ends at 3:15 p.m. If you need to pick up your student early, please plan to arrive before 3:15 p.m. to ensure we can get your student to you safely and efficiently.
Thank you for helping us keep our school day running smoothly! πΎππ
