Ashland Preschool Update

Hello everyone,
We’re just two weeks away from Pittaway Preschool Orientation Day on Monday August 31st, and we couldn’t be more excited! We’re looking forward to welcoming back our returning students and meeting all the wonderful new faces joining our preschool family.
Orientation is a great opportunity for students and families to explore the school, meet the staff, and ease into the school routine.
Mark your calendars
The first official day of school for Preschool is Tuesday, September 1st. We can’t wait to kick off another fantastic year filled with learning, laughter, and growth.
Teacher Assignments
You will be notified of your child's teacher before Orientation. Welcome emails from teachers will be sent out at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 27th.

Pittaway 2026-2027 School Year Orientation
Please join us on Monday August 31st!
We are excited to welcome you and your child to Pittaway Preschool!
During Orientation, you and your child will have the opportunity to meet their teachers and some of their classmates, explore the classroom, and play together. About halfway through the session, parents and caregivers will be asked to transition out of the classroom for a brief presentation while children continue spending time with their teachers and classmates.
During the parent/caregiver presentation, we will review important program information, including arrival and dismissal procedures, tuition payments, curriculum updates, and other helpful information for the start of the school year.
Orientation Schedule
AM Sessions 3-Year-Old Program (Mon–Thurs 8:30–11:00 AM)
Orientation: Monday August 31st, 9:00–10:00 AM
PM Sessions (Mon–Fri | 12:10–2:55 PM), Full-Day Sessions (8:30 AM–2:55 PM)
Orientation: Monday August 31st, 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Stay and Play!
Our playground will remain open for 30 minutes after each Orientation session. Families are invited to stay, meet one another, mingle, and let the children play!
What to Bring to Orientation
Please bring the following items with you to help us prepare for a smooth start to the school year:
- Any medications your child may need. Please bring all medications directly to the nurse’s office. Classroom staff are not permitted to accept medication.
- A complete change of clothes in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child’s name. Please include a shirt, pants/shorts, socks, and underwear. These will be kept in the classroom.
- Extra snacks labeled with your child’s name to keep in the classroom in case a snack is forgotten, spilled, or otherwise needed.
- Any outstanding paperwork. All required paperwork must be received before your child can begin school. Families will be notified prior to Orientation if anything is missing.
We can’t wait to welcome our students and families to Pittaway Preschool and begin another wonderful year together!

We have openings for the 2026-2027 school year in our 4-day 3-year-old AM class, and in our Multiage PM class. If you are interested in signing up for this option, please send your application to Donna Pederson dpederson@ashland.k12.ma.us
