Together We Navigate
Dear Lytle Junior High Families,
As we enter November and the season of Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express how thankful I am for our Lytle Junior High family! We are blessed with dedicated teachers and staff who go above and beyond each day to support our students, and students who continue to grow, learn, and make us proud. I am also grateful for our parents and community who continue to support our campus. Together, we are creating a school where students feel valued, encouraged, and challenged to be their best. There is so much to be thankful for at LJH!
November also brings an exciting change to our athletic calendar! Softball and baseball have officially moved to the fall season, with games beginning in November. We are excited to watch our student-athletes take the field and represent LJH! We encourage our families to come out, enjoy the cooler weather, and cheer on our Pirates as they showcase their hard work and talents. There is nothing better than seeing our students shine both inside and outside the classroom!
As we begin our second nine weeks, we also want to remind families about our 2nd Nine Weeks Attendance Incentive! Students who have three or fewer total absences (excused or unexcused) from October 21 through December 16 will earn the opportunity to attend our Black vs. Gold Basketball Tournament! Every school day matters, and consistent attendance plays an important role in student success. We encourage our students to show up, work hard, and earn their spot at this exciting event. Thank you for helping us make attendance a priority as we continue to navigate this school year together!

Welcome Back from the Assistant Principal
Hey Pirates!
What a great few months it has been! As the holiday season approaches, there are a few things I'd like to remind everyone of:
Words matter, and safety is everyone's responsibility! We want to remind students and parents that threats of any kind—whether made verbally, in writing, online, or even as a joke—are taken seriously. Statements about harming others, bringing weapons to school, or threatening school safety can create fear and lead to serious disciplinary consequences, regardless of intent. We encourage parents to have conversations with their children about thinking before they speak or post. If you see or hear something, say something!
Personal space matters, and respect starts with YOU! Everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable at school. Keeping our hands, feet, and belongings to ourselves and respecting boundaries are important parts of creating a positive school environment. Pushing, grabbing, touching, or invading someone's personal space—even as a joke—is never okay.
Finally, Cell phones and other personal electronic devices should remain off and put away during the school day to help minimize distractions and keep students focused on learning. Please remind students that cell phone expectations apply to ALL students! Using phones without permission, recording others, or accessing phones during the school day can result in disciplinary consequences.
Let's work together to help our Pirates stay focused, engaged, and ready for success! Looking forward to a great holiday season!

Parent Portal and Weekly Agenda
As we enter the busy holiday season, we know schedules can fill up quickly with family activities, sporting events, and holiday celebrations. However, it is important that our students continue to make academics a priority! We encourage parents and students to check the Parent Portal or Student Portal weekly to monitor grades, identify missing assignments, and stay on top of academic progress. Taking just a few minutes each week can make a big difference in student success!
With the second nine weeks underway, now is the perfect time to establish good habits, complete assignments on time, and seek help when needed. Remember, our weekly agendas are shared through Remind and Facebook to help families stay informed about upcoming assignments, tests, and classroom activities. Let's work together to keep our students focused, motivated, and finishing the semester strong!
