Dual Enrollment (online) courses through ICC kicked off this week, and our Aberdeen High School students are already logging in, reviewing syllabi, and getting a jump on college credit. This program lets our Dawgs earn college hours while finishing high school, a proud tradition of hard work with an eye on the future.

Families: make sure your student has access to their course portal, checks the first-week assignments, and knows how to contact instructors. If you run into tech or schedule issues, reach out to the AHS office.

To kick off a unit on theoretical and exponential probability, Mr. Cole quite literally took the lesson up a notch, standing on a chair (briefly and safely) to deliver an attention-grabbing explanation. The high-energy demo helped students compare expected outcomes to rapid, exponential change and sparked great questions about real-world applications. When learning gets memorable, it sticks, and today’s class proved it.

Since school started, 7th and 8th-grade band students have made steady gains, better tone, cleaner rhythms, and stronger ensemble balance.

September is Attendance Awareness Month, let’s make “in school, on time, every day” the standard.

Every Wednesday, we encourage students and staff to wear college shirts! Why? Because seeing those college names and logos reminds our students that higher education is possible for them, whether it’s a school close to home or one across the country. At Belle Shivers Middle School, students and staff are bringing the Capturing Kids’ Hearts Social Contract to life. In Ms. Shaw’s and Ms. Brock’s classrooms, students helped create and sign their own agreements that emphasize respect, kindness, responsibility, and no put-downs. These contracts are proudly displayed on the walls as daily reminders of how the class community has committed to treating one another.

Throughout the building, whether in classrooms, during transitions in the hallway, or while working together, students are upholding the expectations they helped set. Teachers model positive relationships, and students hold each other accountable in a spirit of encouragement. By making the social contract visible and meaningful, BSMS is fostering a culture where respect and responsibility guide every interaction.

This week, we’re featuring Mrs. Williams (teacher) and students Patience and Christian. Together, they share why they chose the Aberdeen School District, why they love school, and what they learned.

Paper connects students with qualified, trained tutors who offer one-on-one live help in any subject, anytime, anywhere. Students can also upload writing assignments (like essays or lab reports) and receive detailed feedback from tutors.
