This week, we kicked off our 1st Felicita Families---a multi-age community to build engagement and belonging. Students played games, got to know new students, and read a story together. It was a FUN time! Be sure to ask your kiddo about it!

Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.

Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:

1. Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.

2. Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.

3. Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.

4. School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.

If we start strong we stay strong! Starting on Tuesday September 2nd, your child's name will be entered into a raffle for each day they are at school for the month of September for a chance to win a new backpack full of Felicita swag and other cool items! We will announce the winner at our ROAR assembly on October 3rd! Remember Every Day Counts!

Starting Monday and ending on Thursday Sept. 18th, students who improve their attendance will be celebrated with a certificate and a photo holding this traveling Amazing Attendance Trophy! Remember—Every Day Counts!

Did you know that Felicita Elementary School has a program called Nutrition Club where students can receive extra food to bring home for the weekend. If you feel that your family would benefit from this program please contact our Family Liaison, Laura Aguilera by emailing laguilera@eusd.org or calling 760-432-2444, ext. 14028. We have limited spots available for this program.
