Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians, Teachers & Staff,

Lights, Camera, Action!!!

Summer was fantastic! I hope that you all spent quality time with family and friends. Hawley is quiet over the Summer. The start of a new school year is very exciting. I love when Teachers, Staff, Parents and Students return. That is what makes our Building, a School.

There is an energy that comes from The Return. So many smiles and happy faces as we connect and reconnect.

Here is a small taste of how things are going...

For Your Information For Your Information

It is a New Year, with a New Teacher. This teacher has NO knowledge of last year's going home arrangements. Please start the year off with new notes of how your child is going home, even if you picked up every day last year. It can be one note stating everyday, but this year's teacher needs that information. This gets their name on THIS Year's pick up list and sends them to the gym. With no note, the assumption is they ride the bus.

Also, per Board of Education Policy, food and gift bags are not used to celebrate birthdays. Each grade level and class will share the wonderful ways they make students feel special on their birthdays. We also announce it during Morning Announcements and I deliver a birthday card and Hawley Pencil.

Also, in PowerSchool there is an opt-out to update each year. It is permission to use your child's picture in Newsletters and the Newspaper. Indicate yes or no in PowerSchool, if having difficulty, feel free to reach out to our office.

~ Thank You ~

Before school even started, our PTA held a special event for our youngest and newest students. Popsicles on the Playground is a wonderful time where incoming Kindergarten students come to our playground for a Popsicle and to play with new classmates. Families also have the opportunity to get to know each other.

~ Thank You PTA ~

The Walk Through The Walk Through

Kids and Families were excited to come to Hawley the day before school started to see their teachers, new classmates and old friends. Our Amazing PTA greeted everyone as they entered. It was a joy to see.
