Message from the Principals
Hello Everyone,
We are thrilled to share that our very own Sarah Costello has been named a finalist for the 2026 Massachusetts Teacher of the Year Award!
Sarah was nominated by a grateful family and has fully embraced each step of the rigorous selection process. Just last week, representatives from the state visited her classroom to observe her in action—as part of her finalist status. Final selection will take place in the Fall.
We are incredibly proud of Sarah and delighted that her dedication, passion, and impact are being recognized on such a prestigious level. Please join us in cheering her on as she moves forward in this exciting journey.
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson

Request from Mrs. C in the Art Room!
Starting Monday June 2 - Please send a bag with your student to art class to take home their artwork. A grocery bag or a tote bag would be great. It has to fit a 12"x18" folder but can stick out of the top. A paper grocery bag works the best. There might be some additional work coming home the week after but no need for a bag for that.
Thanks for supporting the visual arts!!
Art Show Photo Gallery - Thank you Mrs. C!
A special thank you!
Authors Day was a huge success. A special thank you to Meghan Wynne, Laaia Albanese, and Abbey Ciardi for organizing the event. Additonally, we had over 90 volunteers from our South Row community. This event is not possible without all of you! THANK YOU for celebrating our young Authors!

Family Survey - PLEASE COMPLETE!
Dear Chelmsford Families,
Our district values your feedback! We are currently surveying The Chelmsford Public Schools families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district's effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think.
To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2025 Family Survey as we did in 2023 and 2024 as well. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district as good as they can be.
You may complete the survey online between Thursday May 1st and Friday June 13th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website below: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/chelmsfordma/family25/surveys
If you have multiple CPS school-aged children, please feel free to fill out multiple surveys to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question on the survey will be a dropdown to select which school you are filling the survey out for.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact your building Principal.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Reminders and Updates
Recurring Reminders:
- Smartphones and Smart Watches: We strongly discourage sending your child to school with smart phones or watches. If your child brings either of these devices to school the expectation is that they are turned off and in their backpack.
- Snacks: Please remember to send your child in with a snack. The school has a very limited supply that gets depleted quickly and it is not to every students liking.
PE Reminder: Please help your child to remember to bring sneakers when they have Phys Ed. Snow boots are great for recess, but unsafe for the gymnasium. Also on PE days, I would suggest students wear T-shirts or layers so they can take their long sleeve off when they get hot. Thank you!
IIQ Help Desk Tickets: Some families have been using an unmonitored email for support with accessing the Aspen Family Portal. Instead, please use the incident IQ request form located on the CPS website under the parent drop down menu. Nurses Corner
Dear South Row,
Parents of 3rd and 4th grade students, please continue to send in updated physicals. I am preparing the 4th grade files for middle school, I want to make sure they have the most updated information possible. There are a lot of end of year activities and events coming our way. If your student has food allergies or sensitivities, please be mindful to read what the school sends out regarding events where food will be available for students.
Have a great long weekend,
Nurse V.

Consider Joining Pumpkin Fair Planning Committee!
Please consider joining the Pumpkin Fair Planning Committee! As you may have noticed, the Pumpkin Fair is a BIG event to pull off each year. We have an amazing team of volunteers who work behind the scenes each fall and sometimes during the summer to make the event so great. But we have room for more ideas and volunteers! This year the fair will take place on Saturday October 18th. If you would be available to help out, we are looking for some family members who would like to help plan any of the following: Pumpkin Decorating, Photo Spot, Publicity, Volunteer Coordinator, or our newest game "Sweet Spot Toss". If you have any questions about anything pumpkin fair, please email Liz Haugner at elizcern@gmail.com.
