The Mustang Triple Crown!

We are excited to share that our first week of the Mustang Triple Crown is officially underway! This week, our students and staff tackled two trivia questions that didn’t seem to stump too many people.

Our No Fun Fundraiser will continue for a second week! Sixth grade led the charge this week with 100 points, while seventh and eighth grades finished the day Friday tied for second place. With the competition still close, we’ll keep things going next week to see how the standings shake out!

A huge thank-you to all the parents who have already donated so generously. Your support makes a meaningful difference for our students. These funds allow us to provide special activities, experiences, and celebrations that we cannot purchase with school district funds. Every dollar raised goes directly back to student activities, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity.

As you can see in the Spirit Week schedule above, our students voted on the themes, and Student Council organized them into the final order. Students can earn points for their grade level by participating in Spirit Week. Every level of participation counts, so we encourage everyone to join in, have fun, and help their grade earn points!

Next week is Red Ribbon Week, when we promote making healthy choices and living drug-free. We are excited to incorporate the week’s message into our Spirit Week celebration with Superhero Day on Friday! Friday will also be the day of our pep rally, when students will come together for fun games, school spirit, and a few surprises.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make these experiences memorable for our students. Go Mustangs!

School Photo Retakes are Wednesday!

We are excited to welcome Lifetouch back to school to capture this year’s school pictures. Picture Day packets will be sent home with students this week. Families will have the opportunity to view their pictures online before purchasing and can place orders through the packet or online at Lifetouch.com using the code EVTQBPF9X. All students will have their picture taken, regardless of whether an order is placed in advance. If you would like to purchase pictures, please be sure to follow the ordering instructions and deadlines provided by Lifetouch. We can’t wait to see everyone’s smiles!

Registration for School Sports is Open!

Winter sports registration is now open! We encourage all students interested in participating to get registered and keep an eye out for additional information regarding tryout dates, sign-up procedures, and other important details. We look forward to another great season of Mustang athletics!

Club and Activities Update

There are many opportunities for students to get involved, meet new people, and explore their interests this fall! We are excited to offer a variety of clubs and activities for students to participate in throughout the school year.

Mrs. Pires is excited to get the Dungeons & Dragons Club started! The club will meet on Mondays. Students who are interested in participating and have not yet completed an interest form should pick one up in the library and submit it by Friday.

Please be sure to complete your form by the deadline so we can get the game started and include everyone who wants to participate. We look forward to seeing our adventurers come together!

We are also exploring the possibility of developing a Math Counts group. Students who are interested can fill out an interest form located in the main office. We will use the responses to determine the level of student interest and plan next steps.

ASL Club is a welcoming group where students can learn American Sign Language, practice communication skills, and learn about Deaf culture. Students will have fun learning new signs, participating in activities, and building connections with others. ASL Club will meet on Mondays on October 5, October 19, October 26, November 2, November 9, November 16, November 23, November 30, and December 7.

Robotics Club and STEAM Team will provide students with opportunities to explore engineering, technology, creativity, and problem-solving. Robotics Club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00–5:00 p.m. Students will work together to design, build, and program robots while developing teamwork and engineering skills. The Robotics Team is our competition team. On Wednesdays, the STEAM Team will meet after school until the late bus. Students will explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through hands-on activities, creative challenges, experiments, and collaborative projects.

Student Council meets on Thursdays in Room D217. Students interested in leadership, school activities, and helping make a positive difference in our school community are encouraged to attend. They will also be meeting during Wednesday Advisories so that all students can participate.

Any student who is interested in joining Ski Club should go to Room D114 to get information about the club and how to sign up. Sign ups are until December 11.

Although the school day ends at 2:43 pm, each teacher has at least one regular afternoon session each week. This is an opportunity to get caught up on work you've missed or to get help with work you don't understand. Make-up sessions start no later than 2:43 PM and last until 3:25 PM. A late bus pass may be issued for those students in after school help sessions - the bus comes at 4:15pm.
