Practical Tips for Parents and Caregivers
Here are some suggestions for how you can support your child at home and reinforce skills learned in school.
Ask your student what level he/she is on in MathFactLab. Celebrate growth made in the last month. When you have a few minutes with your child such as in the car or on the ferry, practice mental math. Ask your mathematician to find missing addends. For example you can ask, "10 equals 6 plus what number?" or "53 plus what number equals 100?" Start with one and two digit numbers before going on to three digit numbers.
