Texas Association of Mariachi Educators

Hello Directors,

Happy December! As we wrap up the year, we’re thrilled to welcome you to the 2025 TAME Region Contest season. Thank you for the passion and dedication you bring to your students and programs—your work continues to strengthen mariachi education across Texas.

We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the following categories:

High School Varsity (Area)
High School JV (Area)
Middle School
0–4 Year Emerging Middle School
0–4 Year Emerging High School

Directors must hold an active TAME membership, and both Form 1 and the Administration Commitment Form are available under Forms & Registration. (Forms must be submitted by the board's deadline before the upcoming contest)

This week, members will receive an email requesting judge recommendations and suggestions for additions to the current roster. We plan to hold a vote before Christmas Break so we can confirm Area and State judges early and reach out to nominees in a timely manner.

A few important updates for the Emerging Division (0–4 Years):

High School Emerging ensembles may advance to State on April 30th by performing in person at Region or submitting a video by their Area deadline.
All high school ensembles earning a Division I rating at Region will automatically advance to State.
The Middle School Emerging Division will remain in-person only, with division ratings awarded at Region.
