Paint a Pumpkin as a Book Character
The GRE Library Media Center would love for students to PAINT a pumpkin like a book character to decorate for our upcoming Book Fair and the school! Please consider painting a pumpkin to resemble one of your favorite book characters! You are able to use paint and glue, but please DO NOT CARVE your pumpkin. Any pumpkin that has been carved, will need to be sent home immediately. All pumpkins can be brought to the library on October 14, 15, or 16th. This is completely optional. Thank you for considering this fun activity to celebrate books we love!

Athletes to Aid Sports Equipment Donation Drive
Drive Dates: October 14th – November 1st
Glacier Ridge Elementary is hosting an equipment drive run by Athletes to Aid, a state-wide non-profit run by Jerome High School students, in collaboration with the organization Leveling the Playing Field! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to give back and support other kids throughout Greater Columbus.
Here’s how it works:
Students may donate new and gently used sporting equipment found on the Approved Donation List. Students may only bring equipment that can fit inside a plastic bag. They may place donations in the donation box located in the main commons area of GRE.
Parents should bring in any large equipment such as baseball bats, hockey sticks, golf clubs, any equipment that cannot fit in a plastic bag or items that are unsafe for bus transportation.
Parents are welcome to bring in these larger items to drop off during the school day or on the evenings of parent/teacher conferences.
Please reference the Approved Donation List for the items not accepted.
Collection boxes will be located in the main commons of GRE. The box will have the Athletes to Aid logo on it.
All donations will be donated to athletes in need of support. Let’s come together and make a difference through the power of sports!
Thank you for your help,
