All Aboard! All Aboard!

Mrs. Laverty's 7th grade English boarded the Titanic in class as real passengers from the ship.

These lucky students drew a first class ticket and got all the luxuries that go along with the ticket while completing their research.

Next step is writing a Narrative Essay with their passenger as the main character!

Good Attendance Pays Off! Good Attendance Pays Off!

Semester tests will be given at the end of each semester. The policy states that students

will be exempt from taking semester tests if they meet the following criteria in a class:

Grade/ Absences

A/ 3 or fewer

B/ 2 or fewer

C/ 1 or fewer

All students with a grade of D or F must take semester tests. School activity absences are

the only absences that do not count against the student, or disqualify them from a

semester test exemption. Students that enter the district after the first nine weeks of the

semester do not qualify for exemptions.

Mrs. Guinn's Art Students Display Creativity and Cultural Learning Mrs. Guinn's Art Students Display Creativity and Cultural Learning

Middle School Art students participate in a 3D Sugar Skull Day of the Dead art project. They spend some time learning about Day of the Dead, it's origin, cultural meaning, and visual elements. Students learn that Day of the Dead is NOT Halloween, and has a much different meaning for cultures who celebrate. It is a way to remember and honor their loved ones who have passed.

Empty plastic jugs are used to design and decorate like Sugar Skulls. Students are encouraged to represent with cultural accuracy and original artwork. Using fishing line, we display them in the hallway for all students to enjoy.
