National Junior Honor Society for 2025-2026
Selection of next years' 8th graders for NRMS National Junior Honor Society chapter membership will take place this Spring rather than in the fall as in past years. All current seventh graders will attend an information session on Monday 4/7 to learn about the chapter's mission and membership requirements. Interested students will have until April 18 to submit a Statement of Interest form. On April 28th, students who qualify academically will be invited to apply and will meet on May 9th at lunchtime to receive application packets, deadlines and instructions. For more information, please contact Leslie Pirtle, Chapter Advisor at pirtlel@nausetschools.org or visit our National and Chapter websites at www.njhs.us and bit.ly/NausetNJHS
Dear Parents of Grade 6 and Grade 8 Students,
The nurses office will be conducting postural screenings for 6th and 8th grade students. This is a state mandated screening. If your child has been screened by their primary care provider and we have the documentation we will not screen. If you would like to send that documentation in and opt them out of this screening please use this form Opt. Out Form. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to our nursing staff. 508-255-0016 x6021. hartungb@nausetschools.org

Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
Happy April. We made it through the long month of March! Now, if only it would get a little warmer. The only bright side of the cool temperatures and rainy weather is that it keeps students engaged instead of looking too far ahead to summer. The third quarter ends next Friday. Teachers will be entering grades in Aspen and the report cards will be available after the vacation week.
Next week begins the MCAS testing season. On Tuesday April 8 and Thursday April 10 students will take the ELA assessments. Please help remind students to bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school every day, including MCAS testing days. Cell phones and smartwatches are not allowed during testing sessions and will be collected if students bring them to the testing rooms. A reminder that these devices should be kept off and away in lockers every day. Please help students be MCAS ready by getting a good night's sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and arriving to school with a fully charged Chromebook.
Thankfully, this year, we have seen a significant reduction of incidents involving students vaping in school. We hope that this trend continues. In order to keep our students safe and help them make good choices, we do need to have a strong partnership in place between school and home. Please continue to have conversations at home with your students about making good choices. Occasionally, parents/guardians are encouraged to search student backpacks and bedrooms for vapes and/or edibles. Students that have access to older siblings or connect to some nefarious people through social media could gain access to drugs including marijuana edibles and vapes. Please help us help students to stay clear of this and prevent any student from bringing any of this into school. We appreciate the support to help keep our students safe and to help us maintain a safe learning environment for all.
Enjoy the weekend.
