5xStronger
Meet 5xStronger
The 2021 Teacher of the Year finalists, collectively known as 5x Stronger, have worked together tirelessly to put an emphasis on the importance of teacher appreciation, recognition, and support throughout the 2021-2022 school year. Experiencing a combination of virtual and in-person classroom learning throughout the ever-changing shifts stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the members of 5x Stronger have maintained a steadfast passion for uplifting their peers. The teaching profession is driven by a passion for learning and, using their platform as educational leaders, 5x Stronger have traveled to classrooms throughout Harford County to bring their passion and drive to their fellow educators through learning experiences and peer nominated recognition programs. By crafting professional development experiences, video content, and more for their fellow educators, 5x Stronger has been an asset to Harford County Public Schools and the greater community. A summary of their efforts are outlined below.

Get S'more Out of Teaching
In partnership with the Office of Organizational Development, 5xStronger held an informal social event to meet where current HCPS teachers could meet new HCPS teachers. Participants were invited to share stories and advice, swap strategies, and make new friends! This event was held at the Harford Glen Environmental Education Center.
Teacher Tours
The Teacher Tour, presented by 5xStronger, recognizes and celebrates some of the fantastic and extraordinary teachers in our schools. Each month, January to May, nominations were accepted for teachers who are doing an outstanding job in a specific area. One winning teacher was selected each month, but every nominee was recognized in the HCPS 411 Update. The winning teacher received a surprise visit from the 5xStronger team and a special gift from one of our community partners.
