We Want To Hear From You!
Parents and Guardians, we want to hear from you!
Take a quick, five-minute survey and share your perspective on student device use and school-related screen time. Your feedback will help West Ada make thoughtful decisions about healthy effective technology use across all grade levels.
Our goal is not to eliminate technology—it’s to ensure every minute on a school device has a purpose and that students use the best tool for learning, with or without a screen.
Please click this link to take the survey.
Learn more about intentional device use and screen time here.

What are One-Way Alerts
One-Way Alerts
West Ada School District regularly utilizes the Apptegy Notification system to send district and
school-specific information to parents/guardians via text, phone call, and/or e-mail. The
communications sent via Apptegy are one-way alerts, to which the recipient can not respond.
These communications include notification regarding attendance, lockdown drills, late buses,
school closures, lunch account balances, registration information, as well as other important
Topics.
Those present in the Household Tab in PowerSchool are automatically enrolled to receive these
messages. If you are not receiving messages:
Ensure your contact information is accurate in PowerSchool.
If you are not receiving texts, please begin by texting START to 98900.
If you are not receiving emails, please check your spam or junk mail folders to ensure that you
are able to receive emails from our domain - @westada.org.

What is the SDL (Self-Directed Learner) Program for Absences?
West Ada School District has introduced a new, simplified way for families to report student absences and an easier system to request participation in the Self-Directed Learner (SDL) program to excuse planned absences. *All students who request the SDL program will be sent an assignment to complete from the District SDL teacher, and this is who that assignment is to be turned back into in order to be eligible for the absence to be excused. Please understand that the SDL assignment is in addition to the STMS missed classwork and will also need to be completed within the appropriate time frame.
