Celebrating CTE Month: Transportation, Distribution & Logistics at AHS
This Career & Technical Education Month, we’re taking flight with the Transportation, Distribution & Logistics Career Cluster! This program explores the planning, management and movement of people and goods across the country with the critical support services that keep everything running safely and efficiently.
From careers like logistics planner to pilots and aviation professionals, students discover the many pathways within this dynamic industry. At Aledo High School, students can take part in the Aviation Pilots Program of Study, where they learn the science of flight, navigation systems, aviation engineering and safety regulations. Students also have the opportunity to earn their FAA Part 107 Remote Drone Pilot license, opening doors to exciting careers in the aviation field. At Aledo ISD, we’re Growing Greatness by preparing students to navigate and lead the future of transportation.

TAPR Report and Federal Report Cards Available Online
The Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) is now available on the Aledo ISD website. These reports pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics. Click here to view the district and campus-by-campus reports.
In addition, the 2024-2025 Federal Report Cards and School Report Cards are available on the district’s website.
Math Curriculum Review
Districts across the state are currently reviewing math course curriculum for adoption and implementation during the 2026-2027 school year. Materials will be available for review in the Aledo ISD Administration Board Room, located at 1008 Bailey Ranch Road, at the following times:

Celebrations: We're excited to recognize these AISD students & staff members!
Congratulations to the February 2026 Bearcats of Character!
The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees recognized this latest group of students named Bearcats of Character for the 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday, February 16, 2026 for the character trait OPTIMISM.
According to the Positivity Project, optimism represents a state of hopefulness and confidence about the future (both short and long term). People with this strength are future oriented. They have a positive vision of what the future holds and maintain confidence that they will get there. They keep a positive attitude despite setbacks — and often find ways to convert what seems like an obstacle into a stepping-stone to achieve their goals.
Congratulations to the following students, Aledo ISD's February 2026 Bearcats of Character!
Congrats Melanie Atkins from Walsh Elem. - 2026 Jack Harvey Exemplary Teacher!
Aledo ISD is proud to announce our Weatherford College Jack Harvey Exemplary Teacher for 2026 Melanie Atkins! Ms. Atkins teaches first grade at Walsh Elementary, and she was recognized along with teachers from across the region Wednesday at Weatherford College.
Celebrating its 30th year, the Harvey Academy honors exemplary teachers in memory of Professor Emeritus Jack Harvey, who taught at WC for 23 years and was considered among his peers as a "master teacher."
Ms. Atkins creates exceptional experiences with her students, planning ways for them to be fully engaged and excited about learning. She's All in Aledo while she works on growing greatness in her students everyday!
McKinney Elementary Music Teacher Presents at TMEA
McKinney Elementary music teacher Olivia Ramirez presented her session “From Feet to Beat: Whole Body Pathways to Rhythmic Literacy” at the 2026 Texas Music Educators Association Convention.
The annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention is one of the largest music education gatherings in the nation, welcoming more than 30,000 music educators, performers, and exhibitors each year. With hundreds of clinics, concerts, and professional learning sessions offered over just a few days, being selected to present is a significant professional honor and a testament to excellence in music education.
Her session invited educators into an active, joyful exploration of rhythmic literacy through whole-body movement. Participants experienced firsthand how movement pathways can deepen rhythmic understanding, strengthen musicianship, and empower students to internalize beat and rhythm in meaningful ways. The room was filled with energy, engagement, and authentic joy — a true celebration of teaching and learning in action.
We are proud to have Mrs. Ramirez representing our district on such a prestigious stage. Her leadership, innovation, and commitment to student-centered music education continue to make an impact not only at McKinney Elementary, but across the state of Texas.
Great job, Mrs. Ramirez!
