🔖 March is Reading Month- Week 29 📖
Dear Families,
Welcome to Week 29 at Luce Road!
As we continue through March, we are excited to keep celebrating March is Reading Month, Women’s History Month, and our character focus on Cooperation.
As Dr. Seuss once said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Reading opens the door to imagination, learning, and growth. Taking time to read with your child each day helps build vocabulary, confidence, and a love for books. Whether you are reading a bedtime story, talking about pictures, or asking simple questions about a book, those small moments make a big difference.
We are also continuing to celebrate Women’s History Month by helping students learn about women who have made an impact through leadership, courage, creativity, and service. Throughout the month, students are hearing stories and learning about strong women in history, in our communities, and in everyday life.
This week, students will continue to have the opportunity to be recognized on our Making Good Choices bulletin board. Good choices mean showing safe hands, a calm body, and kind words. Students who make good choices all week will be recognized on Friday during morning announcements and in our newsletter. We love celebrating students who show what it means to do the right thing.
Our students are also continuing to focus on cooperation, which means working together to reach shared goals. Through our Cooperation Challenge, classes will recognize students who show teamwork by taking turns, sharing materials, listening to others, and helping their friends. These are important skills that help build a strong and positive school community.
Families, please continue to encourage your child to keep earning Panther Paws through Panther Paw Power Up. Ask them each day how they earned their Paws and celebrate the progress they are making. When students make good choices, stay focused, and follow expectations, great things happen.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful to work alongside you as we help our students grow into strong readers, kind friends, and great teammates.
Warm regards,
Mr. Ernest Conerly

MARCH is COOPERATION MONTH
Cooperation Challenge - ACCEPTED
In SEL, we are working on our COOPERATION skills! Cooperation means working together to reach shared goals. We practiced cooperating by following directions and working together with our classmates. Students learned about teamwork, built structures as a team, and practiced basic classroom expectations like lining up at level zero as a class. Great job, Kinder

Reviewing Tucker Turtle
You may hear your child talk about “tucking like Tucker Turtle.” When this happens, it means they are practicing calming their body, using gentle hands, and choosing kind words. Learning how to pause and regulate emotions is an important skill that helps students be successful in the classroom and with their friends.
We encourage you to practice this strategy at home. When your child feels upset, remind them to stop, take a deep breath, and think of a solution, just like Tucker Turtle. Working together, we can help our Panther Cubs build strong self regulation skills and make positive choices every day.
Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s growth.
