Principal's Message
Celebrating Excellence in STEM at the State Level!
We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students at the Kentucky Science and Engineering Fair (KYSEF), held on March 29, 2025, at Eastern Kentucky University. This prestigious event brought together nearly 300 of Kentucky’s top young scientists who won at the regional levels across the state, competing across 22 STEM categories and numerous special award divisions.
As the highest level of competition available to middle school students in the state, KYSEF is an incredible opportunity that sets the foundation for future advancement to the International Science and Engineering Fair once students reach high school.
NISL 2025 KYSEF Winners:
- Faiz Mohammad – “The Effect of Weight on a Drone’s Lift Capacity” 3rd Place in Category
- Alim Aliyev – “Homemade RC Car” 3rd Place in Amazon Innovation Award
KYSEF has not shared any photos but you can take a look at professional photos of our individual LRSEF winners here and photos of the LRSEF fair day here.
We commend Faiz, Alim, and all of our KYSEF qualifiers for their hard work, creativity, and dedication. Your success is not only a personal accomplishment, but a proud reflection of the education at NISL. May Allah SWT continue to bless your efforts with success and inspire you to reach even greater heights!
Sincerely,
Aisha Blagaia

Important Reminder: Attendance Matters – Only 28 Days Left!
Assalam Aleikum!
Dear NISL Families,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year with only 28 school days remaining, we kindly urge all parents to make sure their children attend school every single day, insha’Allah.
The month of May is packed with critical end-of-year screeners, assessments, and standardized testing. These evaluations help us mmeasure student growth, guide future instruction, inform student placement for next year's courses, and fulfill academic requirements. In addition, students are looking forward to special end-of-year activities that are best enjoyed with full class participation!
Please Note: There will be no early testing or make-up opportunities for standardized tests and assessments that are missed due to travel.
To ensure your child does not miss important assessments, please schedule all appointments outside of school hours and carefully review the monthly calendars sent home and posted online.
Please ensure yyour child is getting plenty of sleep, eating well, and coming to school on time. Your support makes a big difference, and we appreciate your partnership in helping students finish the year strong! Let’s make these last 28 days count!
Sincerely,
Aisha Blagaia
