Quail Camp Registration Reminder (Art Camp)

Our first Quail Camp is this week on September 4th.

Spaces are filling up quickly! Art Camp (now called Quail Camp) is a popular service that helps to support families on days when there is no school and we are happy to provide it!

Please follow registration instructions to ensure that your child is enrolled: To register for Quail Camp(s), please provide both the registration form and payment together. A parent can drop them off at the school, mail them to PPCS at 406 Powers Ave, Moscow ID 83843 or send them in with a student in a SEALED ENVELOPE with STUDENT NAME, DATE and ART CAMP on the front. Note that PPCS will not be held responsible if a student loses or forgets to deliver the envelope. Incomplete registrations or unlabeled envelopes will not be accepted. Thank you for your understanding and our apologies for any inconvenience.

Snacks!

Please remember to send your child with a snack each day. We provide snacks only for kids who really need them.

Vandal Summer Reading

Turn in your Vandal Summer Reading to the Office by Thursday, September 3rd!

This year the Vandal Summer Reading will send out QR codes that will provide discounted tickets for the parents. Just a reminder that the tickets are inclusive for families so it doesn't have to be one adult per free student ticket. For example, one parent can purchase a discounted ticket using the QR code & 3 students can go with them for free.

The VIP student from our school will be able to go on the field during a time out of the Lamar game & receive a VIP Vandal Swag Bag!!!!

Volunteer Opportunities

One of the many great things about being part of this community is the opportunity to serve our school, staff, and students by joining a committee. Committees provide a space for in-depth discussion and focused work. Some committees are made up of board members only, but most are combined committees of board, staff, and PPCS community members.

Committees are a great way to learn new things, meet excellent people, and help fill some of our school’s needs. Please consider joining a committee for the 2026-2027 school year.

Board Meetings

All families are invited and encouraged to attend the monthly board meeting. Meetings are held in-person at PPCS or via Google Meet. You can find the upcoming dates, agendas, and meeting details on the website: https://palouseprairieschool.org/school-board/

You are welcome to address the board during the public comment period. In order to do so please submit a request via email to the Board chair (chair@palouseprairieschool.org) at least two days in advance of the meeting. The email should contain your name; whether you are a student, parent/guardian of a student, school employee, or person residing within PPCS’s attendance area; and describe how the public comment is relevant to the school.

The next board meeting is Monday, September 28th at 6:00 PM.

National Math Club & MATHCOUNTS Competition Series at Palouse Prairie

Welcome back for the 2026-2027 school year. We’re getting an early start on National Math Club / MATHCOUNTS at our school. Open to students in grades 6th through 8th, students will be able to learn and practice math concepts in a fun setting. It is led by a parent volunteer Ellery Blood, with support from Jake Sapozhnikov and PPCS teachers Renée and Andrika.

National Math Club (https://www.mathcounts.org/programs/math-club) is a program that gives middle-school students the opportunity to engage with math in a non-competitive, social environment.

Interested students will also have the option to participate in the MATHCOUNTS competition series

providing students the opportunity to compete in live contests against and alongside their peers.

We’ll be meeting on Tuesday mornings from 7:20 to 8:10 in the middle school science classroom. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 22nd . All students in grades 6th through 8th are welcome. 5th graders will be invited to join in the spring, after the competition series ends.

If your child is interested, please follow this link to fill out the google form with your information (or just show up for a meeting, but I’ll still need your email to send out updates).
