Employee of the Month
We are excited to announce that our March #BaldwinBuilt Employee of the Month is Gene White!
Here are some remarks from Gene's nomination:
"Gene goes above and beyond to create a positive experience for every student that steps foot on his bus."
"I have had the pleasure of riding on Gene's bus to and from many field trips. Driving a bus full of energetic five and six year olds is not for the faint of heart. But every time we have been on his bus, Gene is welcoming, positive, patient, and helpful. He engages with each student as they get on and off the bus and is never short on jokes to tell them. Gene makes what can be a very chaotic time a little more enjoyable for the adults too."
Please join us in congratulating Gene White on this well-deserved recognition and thanking them for all he does!

We can sometimes find ourselves in situations that require us to solve problems or Create something new. In those situations, we can feel stuck or unable to get started. Practicing Creativity can help us develop tools that allow us to use our imagination to come up with meaningful solutions. This month's focus for Pre-K is practicing Creativity to support emotion identification.

2nd Annual Paws to Serve
On behalf of the Baldwin Education Foundation, I wanted to share info about the 2nd Annual Paws to Serve event on Monday, January 19th from 9:30-noon, meeting at Baldwin First UMC at 7th and Grove. On this national day of service, Baker “Cats” & Baldwin “Dogs” of all ages are invited to join together in service to our community.
This is an opportunity for students to earn volunteer hours but even more importantly, for community members to come together and do some good. Activities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
-Community Food Pantry Drive
-Pantry clean-up/recycling efforts
-Outdoor trash pick-up
-Letters (or coloring sheets) for deployed troops
-Valentines for seniors at all 4 local residential facilities
-Treat bags for local first responders
-Kindness kits for LMH
Light refreshments will be provided, along with a T-shirt giveaway sponsored by Baldwin City Made, Prairie Psychiatric Care, and the Brenda Shawley Memorial Fund!
Please help spread the word, and please feel free to bring forward any service needs that you are aware of for the City of Baldwin, USD 348 or Baker grounds so that we can all work together to help in that way as well. If you have other ideas for what would be helpful to community members, please don’t hesitate to reach out so that we can add it to the list!
Thank you!
