NWEA Results & Goal Setting
This week, Math and ELA teachers reviewed NWEA results with students, helping them reflect on their progress and set goals for the Winter assessment. Students were sent home with their NWEA Student Profile Report and encouraged to share their results, reflections, and goals with you. Thank you for engaging in (and prompting!) these conversations and celebrating your student’s growth, successes, and next steps!

Attendance Matters
Being in school consistently matters. Chronic absenteeism—missing 10% or more of school days for any reason, including excused and unexcused absences and suspensions—can affect students’ ability to build foundational reading skills, succeed academically in middle school, and graduate from high school. Every day of learning, connection, and growth counts.
Learn more in this research summary from Attendance Works and explore why attendance matters.
To support student success, Livingston County schools follow the protocol below to address chronic absenteeism. Thank you for partnering with us to help every student feel connected, stay engaged, and be present and ready to learn.
What We Did in Seminar Today
PCHS Monthly Character Strength
Across the month of October, we will capitalize on opportunities to put the character strength of PRUDENCE to work as a school community, during Seminar, class time, and in the day-to-day of our building. Take advantage of opportunities to touch upon this strength at home! In the image below, you can see the rationale for why the Leadership Class selected this strength to be the focus at this time in our school year.
Want to engage with this character strength at home? Check out this family resource page: https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/9-12/prudence/ You’ll find a quote, a video, discussion questions, and a printable activity to help you and your family engage with The Positivity Project’s character strength of prudence.

We are excited to try an evening graduation ceremony! But we also want to be sure you have ample time to prepare and schedule accordingly, especially with this year's commencement falling on a week night.
