Weekly Update
August 13, 2025
From the Principal
Hi all!
The countdown has begun! Only a few more days until the first day of school! Summer has gone by so quickly and I hope everyone was able to reset and renew for the upcoming school year. This year is a special one for our school building. The original structure was built in 1926 and will officially be 100 years old this school year! We are so grateful for the beauty of our original building and are blessed that it has given us 100 years of memories with so many students.
The first day of school is a half day on August 20th from 7:45 AM to 10:50 AM. We will be doing a supply collection in conjunction with a Back-to-School Picnic on August 19th at 4:45 PM. We have added a uniform exchange table to the cafeteria for this event. Everyone is encouraged to share uniforms that no longer fit and take what can be used by your family. Also please invite a family if they may be interested in learning about our school. We would love a chance to show them our community!
We still have openings in every grade level in the event you know someone that is looking for a change. Please have them contact Mr. Peyton Glawe at peyton.glawe@aquinschools.org or 815-235-3154.
See you all soon!
Mrs. Heitkamp
Things You Need to Know
HEALTH/IMMUNIZATION FORMS
Physicals, Immunization, Dental and Vision forms are due to Mrs. Gaulrapp in the office. These forms can be brought in before school begins, during the Back to School Picnic or sent the first day of school. It is very important to have a record of immunizations by October 15th and not having them can cause your child to be excluded from school. Please contact Mrs. Gaulrapp if you have any questions.
FREE/REDUCED LUNCH FORMS
The free/reduced lunch application forms are attached to this newsletter. If you previously qualified or think you may qualify, please make sure you fill them out. These can also be sent to the office before school starts. The first day of school lunch is August 21st. If you do not have forms turned in by this day, you will need to send a lunch with your child or you will be billed for the full cost of the lunch at $4.50.
FACTS BILLING 2025-2026
The billing for families is available in the FACTS portal. Please make sure that you are keeping current with your account. Payments can be done through the portal or by paying in the school office.
