York High School Weekly Memo
Some thoughts for the starting school year

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are having a great week! We had an awesome grand opening for the stadium field last Friday afternoon. The weather was perfect, the stadium looked fantastic (thank you to our maintenance crew, and all of the coaches/athletes who helped organize the spring sport gear), and our student representatives, Josh Neal ('26) and Grace Lovgren ('27), spoke from their hearts to the school community before cutting the ribbon to officially open the stadium. We hope you get a chance to attend a game or meet this spring to see how truly special the new space is.
We have loved getting to celebrate our staff this week for STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK. We will wrap up the week tomorrow with a potluck lunch and a raffle with gift cards and prizes. Thank you to all of our families who have donated.
Enjoy the rest of your week, and as always, if you need anything or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thanks,
Amanda
Prom will be on Saturday, May 16. If students intend to bring a guest from another school, the guest forms must be turned into the Main Office (signed) by Wednesday, May 13 at 2:05.
In partnership with YORKWISE and the York Police Department, to help foster a healthy and safe prom, we will be having all students and guests entering the prom take a breathalyzer test (similar to the Homecoming Dance in the fall). Mr. Hodsdon and Dr. Suttie will be administering the tests. If students do not pass, then parents will be called to pick up their student. If students refuse to take the test, they will not be allowed admittance to the dance, and parents will be called to pick them up. If parents have any questions regarding this decision, please feel free to reach out to Dr. Suttie. All bags and jackets will be subject to searches as well.
Here is the schedule for our underclass final exams (grades 9-11). Students will get more information from their classroom teachers regarding assessments. Our buses will run at regular times, and students do not need to attend study halls.
Spring Testing Updates
Thank you to all of our students who have already completed their NWEA and MTYA. If they missed a day, we will be providing make-up opportunities. Ms. Monaco will reach out to your student to schedule. We will be continuing with our AP exams next week -- the full schedule is detailed below. If there are AP-specific questions, please connect with Brianne Griffin.
