Soccer season is still going strong here with friends at WES
Dear Families,
As I write this I am looking forward to the parade this afternoon. I checked in with all the students yesterday about who/what they were going to be. Their answers were offered so earnestly.
Chorus: The 4/5 chorus performed a delightful, spooky pair of songs for the rest of the school yesterday. Their next performance will be at the Thanksgiving Feast, 11/19.
Early Release Day: Reminder that early release is November 5th at 1pm. Please email Rachel at rchapman@acsdvt.org to share your plans for dismissal. The bus will only run at 1pm so be sure to state whether or not your child will be taking the bus or being picked up. There will be childcare until 3pm- if you are opting for this please let Rachel know as soon as possible, and also state who will be picking your child up. Thanks!
Attendance reminder and clarification: Under the new AOE rules, we are no longer able to approve family vacations as excused absences unless they have been approved (by me or the Superintendent if longer than two days) as an alternative educational experience.
Lunch help: We need a volunteer for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this coming week. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up on this calendar. November and December dates are being filled, but there are plenty of days not yet covered. If you can look ahead and sign up through December it would be greatly appreciated. The lunch menu for November has not been sent out yet, but as soon as Rachel receives it she will email it to you- you can also expect it to be linked in the following newsletter.

Bridport and Shoreham Grade Configuration Design Feedback
Last fall, Superintendent Baker held meetings with Bridport & Shoreham teachers and families to review student performance data and discuss how best to support greater academic success. This summer a working group of Bridport and Shoreham families formed a working group to help design a K-5 single-grade model at one school for the Board to consider for the 2026-27 year.
We now invite our ACSD community to offer feedback using this community survey which includes an overview of the Working Group’s design. All community feedback will be shared with the ACSD Board on November 10th. The Board will review the final design and all feedback in November to determine the 2026-2027 path forward for Bridport & Shoreham students.
