Our Choir Shines at St George’s Cathedral
What a fantastic way to start the new school year! Our school choir had the incredible privilege of singing at the Start of Year Mass for the Jubilee of Hope at St George’s Cathedral, joining pupils from schools across the Southwark Archdiocese. This special celebration brought together the diocesan community to reflect, pray, and give thanks for the year ahead.
Our choir performed with energy, confidence, and warmth, filling the cathedral with beautiful music that lifted the hearts of everyone present. A special mention goes to our soloist, who led the Psalm with poise and grace, adding a moving and personal touch to the service. Together, the choir and soloist represented our school with pride and joy, acting as wonderful ambassadors for our community.
An extra highlight of the day was meeting Archbishop John! Our choir had the privilege of singing alongside him during the photo session, making the moment even more memorable and inspiring for all the students involved.
The feedback from staff and pupils from other schools was overwhelmingly positive. Many commented on the choir’s harmony, enthusiasm, and the uplifting atmosphere they created. It was a moment of true celebration, showcasing the talent, dedication, and spirit of our students.
We are incredibly proud of every member of our choir for their hard work and for sharing their gifts so beautifully. Events like this remind us of the power of music to bring people together and inspire joy, and our choir certainly did that. Well done to all involved – you have set a shining example for the school year ahead!

Open Morning 27th September
We invited families to look around our school and see the amazing views of London while enjoying students doing activities and talking to teachers about the school, the curriculum and the daily life of the school.
We had a beautiful morning to invite parents into school and we have had our Open Mornings this week from Monday 6th October - Friday 10th October where parents can have a look around while the school is working normally and parents and students can visit classrooms.
We have been overwhelmed with the positive comments from prospective parents about how well our students have guided them around the school, the behaviour around the school and how well spoken and knowledgeable the students are.
The girls have stepped up to the challenge of 'selling our' school and they have done an excellent job.

Year 10 Art Work
Our Year 10 students created their own artwork inspired by our Ursuline values and the vibrant subway drawings of Keith Haring.
Between 1980 and 1985, Haring produced over 5,000 chalk drawings across New York City subway stations — transforming everyday spaces into galleries for everyone. His work reminds us that art should be accessible, inclusive, and full of joy — values that our students proudly reflected in their own creations. 🎨✨

Reflection: International Day of Peace
This week, our school community came together to reflect on the powerful words of Pope Paul VI: “If you want peace, work for justice.” In recognising the International Day of Peace, we were reminded that peace is not simply the absence of conflict, but the presence of fairness, dignity, and equality for all.
During form prayers, we took time to pray for peace in our world and to reflect on how each of us can contribute to building a more just and compassionate society. Whether it’s standing up for someone being treated unfairly, donating to a cause, or simply listening to others with empathy, we all have a role to play in creating peace through justice.
We also had a special opportunity to visit the Chapel, where we could write the name of a country we wanted to pray for on a luggage tag and hang it as a symbol of hope. The growing display served as a powerful reminder of the many places in the world where peace is still longed for—and of our shared responsibility to work towards it.
As we continue our week, let us carry with us the message that peace begins with each of us, and that true peace is built on justice, compassion, and action.
As we move forward, may we carry with us the message from last week—that peace begins with each of us, and that true peace is built on justice, compassion, and action.
Let us pray:
God of peace and justice,
We thank you for the chance to come together as a community to pray for our world.
Help us to be instruments of your peace—
to speak up when we see injustice,
to care for those in need,
and to sow seeds of hope wherever we go.
Guide our leaders with wisdom,
bring healing to places torn by conflict,
and fill our hearts with compassion for all people.
May your peace reign in our world, in our communities, and in our hearts.
Amen.
