A Time to Celebrate
As the first quarter of school concludes, we have a great deal to celebrate. We have already seen great growth in students in multiple areas.
As a staff, we are deeply committed to helping every student grow and succeed. Each week, teachers meet with our instructional coach and administrators to review student data and plan next steps that meet the individual needs of all learners, ensuring every child moves closer to mastering grade-level standards.
Each month, our teams focus on reading foundational skills, math, and writing responses using common assessments to celebrate progress and plan support. In intermediate grades, students are writing to explain what they read, find the main idea, and describe story elements. In primary grades, teachers are reviewing writing to monitor phonics skills and high-frequency word use.
As we move into the second quarter, we’ll also gather feedback on students’ sense of belonging—because when children feel connected, supported, and valued, they are ready to learn and thrive.
Our teachers are excited to meet with you during conferences to share all the incredible ways your child has grown this quarter. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to hear about your child's unique strengths, accomplishments, and areas of continued growth. We look forward to seeing you!
🎉 🙌👪 Chatfield Family Engagement Team 👪🙌🎉
We’re excited to kick off another great year with our Family Engagement Team (FET) — a wonderful group of families partnering with us to support students and staff throughout the year. Our first meeting will be on Monday, October 20th from 4:45–5:45 PM, and then we’ll meet on the second Monday of each month.
Our meetings are relaxed and last no longer than an hour. Together, we plan and organize family events, teacher appreciation activities, fundraisers for Chatfield swag, and special events for students and staff.
If you’d like to join this welcoming team and make a positive impact at Chatfield, we’d love to have you! Whether you can give a little time or a lot, every bit makes a difference. Please reach out to Mrs. Cummins if you’re interested in joining.
