After their AP ELA classes got a chance to read the novel A Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds, they created plays to act it out themselves. Then they got to go to the Paramount Theater to see the play, Look Both Ways, based on another book from Jason Reynolds. We love some readers' theater and the AISD Creative Learning Initiative. ENCORE!

The Latino Academic Achievement Awards are being held Wednesday, April 16th from 6:30-8:30pm at the AISD Performing Arts Center (1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd). Some of students will also be recognized that night so all are welcome to attend.

Mr. Pecina's 6th and 7th grade classes made signs in recognition of Cesar Chavez and Delores Huerta Day... and the 8th grade students are hard at work preparing for their AP exam by practicing their recordings.

Ms. Esquibel's science classes love learning with hands-on project including creating double helixes, discussing gases (no, not those kinds), and work with plants in our garden. It's a great way to showcase that science is everywhere!

April 9th is our ELA STAAR tests and the teachers and students did an amazing job of giving and getting some last minute support before the big day. We know everyone will do great and hit their progress goals!

After lots of intervention time, the students got a chance to be with their friends for some free friend time. It was very well-deserved.

Our "Superior" Varsity Band were rewarded with a "make your own" Whataburger for their amazing performance at this year's UIL competition.

Congratulations to our Tennis team for continuing their winning-streak against Covington and Dobie this week.

Every player demonstrated skill, determination, and sportsmanship, contributing to the teams overall success. We are proud of your hard work and dedication to the program. The girls will be playing Means and the Boys will be playing Garcia here at Webb this Tuesday at 6 PM. So come on out and show your support !

There were many winners on our Track and Field Team this week as they went against Sadler Means and Garcia. Keep up the great work!
