Welcome to the New School Year!
August 12, 2025
Dear Families, Students, and Colleagues,
I hope this letter finds you well and that you were able to embrace the summer of 2025 as a time for relaxation, rejuvenation, and connection with family and friends. Here at the Freehold Regional High School District we’ve been working diligently to prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, onboarding enthusiastic new staff and making exciting enhancements across our campuses.
At the heart of everything we do is our unwavering commitment to our students’ education and personal growth. Our goal is for every student to build meaningful relationships, engage fully in their learning, and experience academic growth throughout their four years of high school. In early September, our dedicated faculty and staff will be welcoming students, encouraging them to explore new opportunities and to immerse themselves in the vibrant school community. As we begin another school year, I encourage each student to challenge themselves academically and explore opportunities through extracurricular activities. You never know the lasting relationships that may form or the doors that could open as a result of active engagement in both the classroom and school community.
Long-term student success begins with consistent attendance. We ask that students come to school every day, ready to engage fully in the academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities available to them. Regular attendance plays a crucial role in each student’s development, and we greatly appreciate your partnership in emphasizing its importance.
Equally essential to a productive learning environment is minimizing distractions. We appreciate students’ keeping their cell phones off and stored away during class and in the hallways. This simple practice will help ensure that students build meaningful connections with their peers and teachers, focus on their lessons, and participate actively in discussions, enhancing their overall academic experience.
As we look forward to the start of another school year, we are excited about the promising future that lies ahead for our students and staff. It is with great enthusiasm that I share the recent campus improvements that have taken place or are in process at:
- Colts Neck High School: Refinished the main gymnasium floor with updated graphics, made improvements to the media center, and will be installing a new outdoor marquee.
- Freehold High School: Constructed a new security vestibule, made improvements to the media center, refurbished the auditorium and stage, and installed a new outdoor marquee.
- Freehold Township High School: Replaced the main gymnasium floor, upgraded the auxiliary gymnasium wall pads, replaced two boilers, refreshed the media center furniture, and replaced the auditorium stage floor.
- Howell High School: Refinished the main gymnasium floor, replaced cafeteria food service equipment, installed new flooring in the media center, and will be paving in front of the school.
- Manalapan High School: Continued beautification of the courtyard areas, and will be paving the student parking lot and refreshing the landscaping in front of the school.
- Marlboro High School: Replaced the roof over the gymnasium, replaced cafeteria food service equipment, and refurbished the concession stand.
These enhancements are part of our continued efforts to provide a safe and inspiring learning environment for our students.
We are excited for the opportunities that the new school year holds and look forward to supporting each student on their academic journey. Together, we will continue to cultivate a culture of positive relationships, active engagement, and continuous growth.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer, and I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
Sincerely,
Nicole P. Hazel, Ed.D.
