Dear Families,
Next week we’re beginning a new theme in our classroom, “My Family and Friends”. In the first week of this theme, we will explore how families work and play together and how families can be alike and different. We will have lots of fun discovering how fabulous families can be!

Preschool Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
- Clark Hall Families: Please do not park in the parking spots labeled T and a # those are for staff members. There are PS spots designated for preschool families.
- Goshen Lane Families: Do NOT allow your preschooler to use the playground when there are school-age students on the playground. This is a safety concern for opening the fence during lunch times. Playground is available after school hours (3:15 p.m.)
- As a reminder, please monitor your child in the parking lot due to traffic/buses at both locations.
National Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is observed from September 15 - October 15. This month celebrates and recognizes the contributions Hispanic and Latino Americans have made to American society and culture and to honor five of our Central American neighbors who celebrate their Independence days in September.

Important Information Previously Communicated
Safe Snacks
Students should pack a healthy nut free snack and drink daily. Foods such as grapes should be cut up as a preventative measure for choking hazards. Staff may offer the child a different safe snack option if there are safety concerns with the snack that was provided by the parents/guardians.
Birthday food treats will not be allowed at school. Feel free to send non-edible items instead! We do want to celebrate your child's birthday, we just want to be respectful to students with food allergies!
Late Pick Up Fees
LATE PICK UP FEES
Parents/Guardians of peer model(s) who pick up their child after the scheduled pick-up time will be charged a late fee equal to $1.00 per minute, per child. Teachers will be asked to complete a Late Pick Up Acknowledgement form for parents/guardians who pick up their child after the scheduled pickup time. Parents/Guardians will be asked to sign the Late Pick Up Acknowledgement form and will be given a copy before leaving the preschool with their child. The fee must be paid in cash or check to the receptionist at Clark Hall, 380 Granville St., Suite B. Gahanna, Ohio 43230 before the child can be admitted back to their preschool class. If there are more than six violations, then your child may be dismissed from the program.
Steps for Becoming a Volunteer
Process:
A GJPS staff member will notify the school community of a need for volunteers.
Family members will contact the building coordinator or teacher to express an interest in volunteering.
Coordinator/teacher will share the Online Volunteer Application and Background Check Link: https://apps.raptortech.com/Apply/OTkwOmVuLVVT
Volunteers will complete the application at least 5 days prior to the volunteer opportunity.
Note:
Other siblings can not volunteer with family members.
Visitors will continue to have their driver’s license scanned with our Raptor system which checks them against the national sex offender registry. This would include parents coming to have lunch with their student(s), guest readers, corporate presenters, etc.
Monthly Kindness Cart
Each month, we are looking for family volunteers to shine some kindness through small treats/kind gestures with our staff at Goshen Lane Prechool and Clark Hall Preschool. This could be cookies, donuts, coffee etc. The kindness carts will take place the last Friday of each month.
