Friday Updates

Dear SHS Families,

We were able to start the week coming off the heels of an action-packed weekend of our annual PTO Trivia Night and Sunday's liturgies led by our very own SHS students. One of my favorite things we do each year is those celebrations of the Mass, and this year certainly did not disappoint. Those paired with our Coins for Kids drive raising $307.73 for the Catholic Education Foundation, and our PTO Trivia night bringing in $1,710 made for an exciting start to the week. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Believe it or not, today marks the halfway point for the 3rd quarter. If you have any concerns about how your student(s) are performing this quarter, now would be the time to reach out.

A few calendar items to keep in mind moving ahead in the next couple of weeks. There will be no school on Monday, Feb. 9th, as teachers will be undergoing professional development. There will be no school the following Monday as well in observation of Presidents’ Day. Friday, February 13th, we will have our Valentine's Day celebrations beginning at 3:00 pm until dismissal that day. Check with your student’s teacher or room parent for more details. Most importantly, Wednesday, February 18th, will mark the beginning of the Lenten Season. All students will attend Mass that Day to receive their ashes. We encourage you to begin the conversation on how your family can journey together during this season in prayer, alms giving, and fasting.

As a final note, Open Enrollment information was released earlier this week, and I encourage your family to take advantage of incentives by getting your information in before spring break and spreading the word around the community. Getting your information and registration in accurately and on time is the first step in making the 2026-2027 school year a success.
