A+ Information 25/26

General Requirements:

Here are the 5 requirements to complete by graduation to be eligible for the A+ program :

ü Sign and return the A+ Program Agreement (found in guidance, just needs a parent and student signature)

ü Maintain an unweighted minimum of 2.5 GPA

ü Earn a qualifying math score on your Alg 1 EOC (advanced or proficient) or qualifying combined ACT score + GPA (ACT-math section only)

ü 95% cumulative attendance

ü Complete 50 hours of tutoring/mentoring (covered in 1 semester of being an A+ tutor with a teacher of your choice or Vacation Station hours at a FHSD elementary school)

How to Earn A+ Hours:

-Students are able to tutor in a FHC teacher’s room for one hour of their schedule. One semester earns students all 50 hours, as well as 0.5 elective credit towards graduation. No letter grade is given for the class.

-Students are also able to volunteer at Vacation Station at one of these FHSD elementary schools – Castlio, Warren, Fairmount, or Central Elementary during FHSD breaks or after FHC dismisses.

Seniors need to have a plan on how they will complete their hours or have already completed all hours by January 31st, 2026 or will be dropped from the A+ Program.

HOBY and MLS Summer Leadership Camps for Sophomores

Attention Sophomores: Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) & Missouri Leadership Seminar (MLS) are two summer leadership camps for current sophomore students that take place in June. Pick up an application from Ms. Baez in the counseling office (or open the link below) to learn more and return your application by November 21, 2025, for a chance to be selected to represent FHC at one of these leadership events.
