Providence Hall High School
At Providence Hall, we sometimes feel a little different from other schools. We waited longer for a stadium. We hold a stricter dress code. We ask students to put their phones away. Those things might make us seem “odd.” However, Dr. Seuss reminds us that “you have to be odd to be number one.”
But here’s the thing—if we see “odd” as something to hide, it will only hold us back. If we’re too worried about looking different, we miss the chance to cheer, to lead, and to create the memories that make high school unforgettable. It’s only when we embrace what makes us different that we discover how powerful it can be.
Odd means courage—the courage to cheer loud, to take risks, to show school spirit even if it feels silly. Odd means creativity—finding new ways to celebrate, to lead, to stand out. And odd means community—because when we’re bold together, we make school more fun, more united, and more unforgettable.
This year, you’ve shown more spirit, more pride, and more willingness to take risks—even if it means singing the fight song off-key because it’s still new. And it’s paying off. Assemblies are louder, games are more exciting, and the whole school feels more united. If you keep embracing those “odd” things that make us different, you’ll have an amazing high school experience. So stop wondering if the grass is greener somewhere else—because right here, together at Providence Hall, we are rising to the top. Others may see us as odd, but odd is exactly what it takes to be number one.
