Dear Windsong Ranch Families,

Welcome back, families! I hope everyone is enjoying these final days of summer break. We are officially in the home stretch, and the countdown to Day 1 on Tuesday, August 11th is on! The entire staff is hard at work getting everything ready and we are all excited to see everyone in person at Meet the Teacher this Friday, August 7th from 5 - 6:30pm.

For our returning families, you’ll be glad to know that our arrival and dismissal procedures will be the exact same as last year. If you see a new face during those first few days, please lend a friendly hand and help guide our new families through the routine! I will be sending out a follow-up message later this week with all the specific details so you feel completely prepared.

Bike & Scooter Safety: If your student plans to ride a bike or scooter to school, please take a few minutes to watch the video together before the first day to review our safety rules and expectations!

Enjoy these last few days of summer and we’ll see you all very soon!

  • Your child's teacher will also be seeking important information from you about how your child will go home on the first day of school and each day after.

  • If you need to share specific information about your child or have further questions, please email their teacher and schedule a separate time to meet.

  • Because our teachers will be working all day on Friday, August 7th, we will end Meet the Teacher promptly at 6:30 PM so they can get home to their families.

Chromebook News

Elementary School students will not be issued a Chromebook. Students will use the Chromebook carts housed in their classroom, as needed. Our goal is to only use technology when it will enhance student learning.

Prospering Promise Partners

We’re looking for caring, committed adults to serve as mentors to Prosper ISD students. You don’t need to be a counselor or expert—just someone willing to listen, encourage, and show up consistently. Mentors meet with students on campus during the school day in a structured, supportive environment.

As a mentor, you’ll help students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow into the confident, resilient leaders of tomorrow. We provide all the training and tools—you bring your time and heart.

All applicants must complete and pass a Prosper ISD Volunteer Background Check.

Volunteer mentors will:

  • Meet with students monthly, during the school day, for 30 minutes
  • Build positive relationships rooted in trust and respect
  • Serve as role models and champions for student success
  • Help students develop confidence, character, and connection

Questions: Email studentservices@prosper-isd.net or visit the Prosper ISD Mentoring Website.
