Only in Aledo | Learning Takes Flight

What does learning look like in Aledo ISD? Sometimes, it takes flight.

Aledo High School students Owen Fox and Kale Roberson share how the AHS aviation Career and Technical Education pathway is providing real-world Exceptional Experiences through a partnership with EMJ Construction.

Students are flying drones over the construction site of the new H-E-B near Aledo High School to capture detailed photos, video and data that help monitor progress, track materials and support construction planning. Through these authentic learning experiences, students are gaining valuable technical skills and industry-based certifications while seeing firsthand how classroom learning connects to future careers.

This partnership is another example of the innovative opportunities that happen Only in Aledo.

The Aledo ISD Child Development Center is more than childcare. It is a place where little Bearcats learn, grow and thrive while supporting the families who serve students across Aledo ISD every day.

Let’s celebrate the first group of students who started as infants when the CDC opened in 2022 and are now headed to Pre-K! These young learners were honored with a special certificate ceremony and clap out celebration as teachers, parents and classmates cheered them on throughout the campus.

Hear from Aledo ISD teachers Joni Myres and Taylor Sholder as they share how the CDC has positively impacted their families and careers. CDC Director Becky Albertson also shares what it means to be All in Aledo and why the Child Development Center is such a unique benefit found Only in Aledo.

From nurturing relationships to age-appropriate learning experiences, the CDC is helping create Exceptional Experiences for the children of Aledo ISD employees while Growing Greatness from the very beginning.

The Aledo ISD Board of Trustees recognized this latest group of students named Bearcats of Character for the 2025-2026 school year on Monday, May 18, 2026 for the character trait FAIRNESS.

According to the Positivity Project, fairness is the product of moral judgment — the process

by which people determine what is morally right and what is morally wrong. Moral reasoning has been explored and analyzed in two main traditions: the justice reasoning approach and the care reasoning approach.

Congratulations to the following students, Aledo ISD's May 2026 Bearcats of Character!
