York High School Weekly Memo
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are having a great week! It was definitely a scorcher this week, and it truly felt like summer, but we do have a few more weeks to go before we can officially kick off vacation.
Last Saturday night, we had the most wonderful time at the prom. The weather was gorgeous, the venue was beautiful, and our kids were great. The hard work and dedication from the junior class advisors, Courtney Dold, Paul O’Brien, and Bill True, made the event so successful.
We are officially kicking off our end-of-year celebrations next Thursday evening with our Underclass Awards Night. If your student is receiving an award, you would have received an invitation in the mail this week (and they received an email). This is a great event to recognize our students in grades 9-11. Next Friday (one week from tomorrow) is the last full day of school for our seniors, and graduation is only 22 days away. Today was a BIG DAY as I signed all of the diplomas for the Class of 2026!

Science Wing construction begins on Tuesday! We are thrilled that we are going to have seven updated science classrooms for the 26-27 school year. But, in order for this project to be completed on time, we need to begin the renovation on the first floor next week. Students who take the bus will still be dropped off and picked up at the bus loop, but they will enter and exit the building through the main office (the science wing doors will be blocked off). Thank you to the community for supporting these classrooms and to our science teachers for their end-of-year flexibility.
Enjoy the rest of your week, and as always, if you need anything or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thanks,
Amanda
Here is the schedule for our underclass final exams (grades 9-11). Students will get more information from their classroom teachers regarding assessments. Our buses will run at regular times, and students do not need to attend study halls.
