North Field Hockey

Field Hockey had a great season with a record of 8-1. The team consisted of 21 girls, and many were new to the sport. The returning 8th graders for North were Margaret Shaffer, Colby Graber, Lucy Capo (Captain), Dylan Smith (Captain) Ashlyn Sorchillo, Ella Forte and Zoe Jones. In two years of playing for North these girls had only lost one game and that was the teams first game of the season this year. Despite that loss the girls came out strong and managed to score 47 goals against our opponents and only had 6 goals scored against them, five coming from the first game. Coach Detweiler and Blash were proud of the teamwork and coachability this team had for the very successful season.

Seventh Grade Science

In 7th grade science, students explored chemical bonding through a fun, hands-on activity where animals represented atoms. Each “animal atom” could form a specific number of “bonds,” helping students visualize how real atoms connect to create molecules. This engaging simulation allowed students to move, collaborate, and build “molecules” together—making abstract chemistry concepts come to life through teamwork and creativity!

Students are also learning how matter changes from one phase to another. They recently explored sublimation—the process where a solid changes directly into a gas, by observing dry ice. This fun hands-on experience kicked off our unit on states of matter and phase change.

Mrs. Frable’s English students are developing protagonists for their new fiction stories. They made avatars to help them brainstorm internal and external characteristics.

Clue 2

Last month, our school was buzzing with excitement as students and staff took part in Schoolhouse Clue 2, a five-day interactive mystery adventure! Familiar faces returned to the spotlight—Mrs. Kluck, Mrs. Osmun, and Mrs. Shaffer—while Mrs. Lonsdale made a dazzling debut as Ms. Scarlett.

Behind the scenes, two secret roles added intrigue to the game: the elusive Archivist and the ever-mysterious Wadsworth the Nighttime Butler. Their identities kept everyone guessing until the final reveal!

This lighthearted experience brought our school community together in a fun and creative way, running seamlessly alongside our regular schedule. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Clue 2 a memorable success!

8th grade:

Upper Bucks County Technical School Presentation and Trip

  • On October 10th, the Upper Bucks County Technical School (UBCTS) presented to our 8th graders on the tech programs available for high school students. Students then selected which programs they would like to visit on our upcoming trip to UBCTS.
  • On November 5th, the 8th graders will tour UBCTS programs. Please refer to the blast email sent out on 10/23 for more details about the field trip.
  • UBCTS has requested that all students wear closed-toed shoes (no crocs!) and long pants for the tour on 11/5. Not wearing the appropriate attire on the trip may prevent students from going into the shop area and getting the full experience.

Upcoming Career Pathway Presentations – Helping Students Plan Their Future!

Attention parents of 8th grade students! During 11th period in the coming weeks, your child will take part in Career Pathway Presentations designed to help them explore future opportunities and make informed choices as they prepare for high school. Students will learn about a variety of career pathways—from health sciences and engineering to business, technology, and the arts. They’ll also discover which high school classes best align with their interests and goals, and which clubs and extracurricular activities can help them build valuable skills and experiences. These presentations are a great first step in helping students connect their passions to potential careers and start mapping out a meaningful high school experience. Encourage your student to come ready to explore, ask questions, and get inspired about their future!

AM Drop Off

Please use the Visitor Parking spaces in the lot if you are going to idle for a bit in the AM when dropping off your student as all of the other spots are numbered and assigned. There are times when our early bird educators throw off parking because someone is idling in their spot in the lot. Thank you for understanding!!
