PJHS Parent Weekly

Hello PJHS Families,

Please note that the parent communication has new items added, so take your time to look at all the information included in this newsletter as dates for some events, fundraisers, and meetings are approaching soon.

We need all students to get their smiles ready for picture day! Just a reminder that picture day for PJHS is scheduled for October 1st. If you need more information on picture day, please feel free to reach out to the office.

I am happy to say that the students are excited that we will have our up-coming fall dance. Right now, details of the event are coming together, but please save the date! The date for the PJHS fall dance is October 24th. Please be on the lookout for more information.

If anyone is interested in helping support the PTO , they are in need of volunteers for mum pick-ups on September 25th. Pick up time is from 4:30-6pm at Peotone Elementary School. Please reach out to PTO if you wish to volunteer (contact information below).

Furthermore, below you will see our information about our district-wide spirit days during homecoming week. We are looking forward to showing our spirit on these days!

Also, please look at the important dates below as a reference, in order to put any events on your calendar.

We are looking forward to another great week ahead!

Thank you!

Please note the message from district transportation:

With the increase in students on bus routes this year, we are no longer able to allow extra passengers to ride home with other students. Families will need to make alternate arrangements for these situations.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and support.

Please look over the student handbook for all policies and procedures for Peotone Junior High.

Please refer to the Chromebook policy for PJHS students. Please also try and remind your child to charge his/her Chromebook everyday to limit infractions of the policy.

Click below for the PTO linktree, which will be updated throughout the year with the latest information, fundraisers, and event details!

You just have a few days left to get your fall mums! You can order on our new online store or send back your paper forms to your school. Order deadline is fast approaching and due on Tuesday, Sept 16th and pick up will be Thursday, Sept 25th at PES from 4:30-6pm.

The Peotone Historical Society will be holding their 23rd annual Old Mill Fall Fest on Saturday, September 20th from 4-9pm in the big tent. Also, there will be civil war camp, crafts with different vendors, food and games on Sunday, September 21st from 11am-4pm. They are looking for the community to come and join in the fun!

If you are dropping off any items for your child:

• The exterior door closest to the buzzer will be unlocked. You may enter using this door without needing to be buzzed in.
• There is a table set up on the right to place items being dropped off for your child. Please write their first and last name, and grade level on a sticky note and leave the item on the table.

If you are entering the building for any reason during the school day, you will need your ID to scan in through our Raptor system.
