Happy New Year! We hope you all had a wonderful break and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. We are excited to see our students and get back into routines. This week, we kicked off our days with our Great Expectation Rotations. Students reviewed our school wide expectations for the Hallway, Cafeteria, Restroom, Office and out on our playground for recess. Staff are very proud of our students and they know the Orca 5: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Caring and Be a Great Learner! Please read carefully about some upcoming events.

Lost and Found Lost and Found

Our Lost and Found has many items in it and we are encouraging students to stop and see if they are missing anything. If you know that your child is missing something, please have them visit the Lost and Found. On Friday January 13, we will be donating the lost items to Goodwill.

We spent time this week intentionally reviewing school-wide and recess expectations. Throughout the month of January two students in every classroom every day will be recognized as “recess rockstars” for showing the orca 5 during recess. Recess rockstars will have the privilege of signing our Wall of Fame. Way to go, Orcas!

Can your child tell you the Orca 5?

  • Be safe

  • Be respectful

  • Be responsible

  • Be caring

  • Be a great learner

January 16th- No School

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed every year on the third Monday in January. It is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service.

“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said this to an audience in Montgomery, Alabama in 1957 – and it still rings true today and every day.

How do you give back to your community? What are you doing for others?

One way that our Crestwood students can serve others is by participating in our annual Great Kindness Challenge January 23- 27th. There will be more information coming soon.
