Fall 2025
Plato Periodiko
Principal Appreciation Month
Earlier this month, we invited families across our school community to share their thoughts about our school leaders through a brief online survey. The response proved remarkable, parents, guardians, and students took time from busy schedules to articulate what makes their principals exceptional. These authentic reflections, gathered throughout October in honor of National Principals Month, reveal the profound impact our administrative leaders have on daily school life. We’re grateful to everyone who participated and are pleased to share a few of these genuine expressions of appreciation.

College Credit in High School: A Smart Investment in the Future
Plato Collegiate Academy middle and high school students toured the University of South Florida campus, exploring the facilities they'll soon use as enrolled college students while still completing their high school education.
At Plato Collegiate Academy of Tampa High School, freshmen can begin earning university credits through USF dual enrollment. Students accumulate up to 60 college credits across four years, essentially completing their first two years of undergraduate education at no additional cost to families.

Griffin News
Our students are keeping the art of print journalism alive with The Griffin News, a one-page newspaper that delivers campus highlights at Plato Collegiate Academy of Tampa, upcoming events, and student stories.
Edited by Austin and written by Emma, Nolan, Una, and Austin, this October 17th edition showcases everything from Trunk-or-Treat details to Spirit Night visits and varsity sports schedules. These young journalists are learning invaluable skills in reporting, editing, and layout design while keeping their school community informed.
In an age of digital overload, a printed page that students can hold, share, and read together is more personal. Plus, "The Griffin News" proves that student voice matters, regardless of format.
Congratulations to the editorial team for maintaining this meaningful tradition of campus journalism.

2025 - Great American Teach-In
Celebrating Thunderbolt Generosity and Spirit
Ms. Nia Koufogazos' third-grade class at Plato Academy Palm Harbor (Thunderbolts) collected more donated items than any other during the school's recent drive, earning a pizza party and squishies for their outstanding effort. The achievement reflects excellent coordination by Outreach Coordinator Nicole Guthrie, but the real credit belongs to the entire Plato Palm Harbor Thunderbolt community. Every family who contributed demonstrated the kind of civic engagement that transforms a school into something greater, a place where students learn their actions matter and collective effort produces meaningful results. This is the momentum that defines strong communities.
