A Note from Mrs. Kidder and Mrs Larson

Happy Sunday, Dunham Families!

I hope you all had a fantastic week! Yosemite was absolutely beautiful, and it reminded us of just how meaningful outdoor education can be!

At Dunham, we believe some of the most powerful learning happens beyond the classroom walls. Outdoor education gives students opportunities to connect with nature, apply their learning in real-world settings, build confidence, and strengthen friendships with classmates. These hands-on experiences create lasting memories while helping students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.

One of the things that makes Dunham so special is our commitment to providing meaningful outdoor learning opportunities throughout our students’ educational journey. From our hands-on Garden and Agriculture Program to our participation in STRAW, where students partner with Point Blue Conservation Science to help restore local watersheds, our students learn the importance of environmental stewardship and caring for their community. Older students can participate in the Angel Island Living History program and our sixth-grade camp at Mendocino Woodlands, where they build independence, deepen relationships, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Outdoor education is more than a field trip or a day away from school. It gives students a chance to learn by doing, grow through new experiences, and build connections that extend far beyond the classroom. We are proud to offer these experiences at different grade levels and grateful for the staff, families, and community partners who help make them possible.

These are the moments that make learning meaningful and help make the Dunham experience so special!

Below is everything you need to be prepared for the week!
