Wessagusset Elementary School

On Thursday we had an exciting visit with Wessagusset alumni who are graduating from Weymouth High School. Our students were inspired and our staff could not be more proud. It was so awesome to help them celebrate this huge accomplishment - we know that they will do great things! On Friday, 5th Graders enjoyed an informative visit with Guidance Counselors and Asst. Principal Materna from Chapman. They asked excellent questions and got a lot of great information about their new school! Here is some helpful information for the weeks ahead.

• Field Day will be held on Friday, June 9th! Remember to wear sunblock...hats and sunglasses are great, too! Here are the grade level colors:

• Kindergarten - Red

• Grade 1 - Orange

• Grade 2 - Yellow

• Grade 3 - Green

• Grade 4 - Blue

• Grade 5 - Purple

• Tuesday, June 13th is a half-day with dismissal at 11:50 am.

• The 5th Grade Band Concert will be held on Monday, June 12th at 7:00 in the Chapman Auditorium. More information can be found here: Grade 5 Band Concert

• Move Up Ceremony: June 15th at 10:00 am in the Cafeteria

• 5th Grade Fun Day Field Trip to Starland: Friday, June 16th

• Important Bus Information: The WPS Transportation Department is now accepting applications for SY 2023/2024 Bus Transportation. Parents of this current school year have been sent an email with the Bus Application. Please use that email to submit your students’ bus application. The deadline for submission of the application is June 16th. We are not accepting bus applications for Kindergarten students at this time. More information will be sent to Kindergarten families in the first week of June. Bus routes for the 2023-24 school year will be available in August. Please note bus routes are subject to change as we continue to make adjustments to routes. We recommend checking the routes periodically for changes. Finally, a huge shout out and thank you to Joanie and Tom Levitt for for all of the time, effort, and energy they put into the Wessagusset 5K! The work they put into making this event such a big success is truly appreciated. Thank you to all the Parent Council and volunteers as well!
